was it just me, or did Hopkins act like a royal Biatch in the fight?

    Dude spent more time crying like a *** and bitching about the same **** he was doing to RJJ, except RJJ caught caught and he didn't.

    So he got his "revenge" against a shell of a fighter that once was, and he still acted like a ***** in there... I gave more respect to Roy in losing than hopkins in winning.

    maybe it was just me :huh

    I'm a fan of both and Hopkins really disgusted me and pissed me off in that fight. You can see that he intentionally hits behind the head knowing Jones would respond then he would fake it to get a break when tired. After that I honestly don't want to see him fight again, just retire and let's move on.

    Same here I wish they would both just retire already.
    I couldn't understand why Hopkins would do that, was actually that winded that he needed the break??

    i've been reading dan rafael who is just TRASHING jones for the constant fouls and how hopkins was obviously hurt by them. still haven't seen the fight but saw the big foul in question and rafael is an idiot and hopkins, while i'm reluctant to call him a *****, is no warrior. period. he's a business fighter: most money, least risk in the fight itself and will do anything to buy time or a win. effective but completely without honour or class. (waiting for obligatory, "he's a warrior cause he steps in the ring and who are you to judge him" remark)

    The intentional low blow he threw was dirty , and then he gets hit on the belt line and goes down again ? This guy is a joke

    You know what I think they made a gentleman's agreement not to hit each other in that fight? sounds silly but it feels like they just carried each other in the fight, of course the more clinching and fouling the less clean hitting they would have to do. Think they realized they are done, needed a pay day, robbed some fight fans for their hard earned money and just carried out their "game plan".

    Here's what Hopkins had to say about it;

    "I felt light headed in the ring from the moment he hit me behind the head and that changed the way I wanted to attack during the second half of the fight. I was seeing spots for the rest of the fight, I felt like was in an elevator on the top floor of a skyscraper coming down to the lobby. It was like the room was moving and I was standing still. I was fighting off of instinct. I don't know when the bell rung, I just know I had to get him and throw punches. Then I saw the referee jump in there and I thought he was stopping the fight at first, but then I saw other people jump in there. I never heard the bell ring. I attacked him like that because I didn't think I would be able to finish the fight seeing spots like that."

    "I was trying to shake my head and clear my vision, but I just had to tough it out because that's what warriors do. I think the fight could have been different, but when the other guy doesn't want to do anything to you, but it becomes a mess.

    "I thought Roy Jones was going to come in there and be a little leary, but he was scared to death. Trust me, anybody who been in the ring before, not the guys who have been watching it for ten years and think they're experts, when you go in that ring it's a whole new different ballgame. Roy went into that ring petrofied and he had good reasons to based on his previous encounters.

    "I expected Roy Jones Jr to fight like a legend and let it all hang out. Our styles don't mesh well, and I knew there would be grabbing, but at the end of the day I'm going to fight like a man. When you fight in the ring you fight under any circumstances. Some don't continue and we've seen that recently. There's only that time when it happens that you have to make the decision to bite down and do what you got to do. 90% of that fight was based on instinct. I think the average person would have been trying to find a way to get out, I didn't. I went right after him."

    Terrible fight....
    I was at least happy that Jones was able to act like a man in the ring and not get all theatrical when he was fouled by Hopkins.

    This fight was more painful to watch than Hopkins v Eastman.
