Nielsen, 49-0 and about to break the Marciano record, has the edge for 9 rounds until falling over in round 10 from dehydration. Atleast that's what happened to him against Dicky Ryan... Nielsen was a strong, tough guy while Sanders was by far the more talented of the two. Interesting match-up but I think I'll go with Sanders here, either stopping or outpointing the durable Dane (but not as durable as Battling Nelson).
Ah yes, the great Dickie Ryan, the spoiler. God said no way is this fatass going to break Marcianos record and he struck Nielson down.
Previously it had happened to Larry Holmes and more recently to Dariusz Michalczewski and Nikolai Valuev. Nielsen came the closest though, although I felt his streak should have ended with near 50 year old Larry Holmes.
Brian Neilson was not super. He was just another easy kayo victim for Sanders Lethal Super Southpaw Assault. Sanders KO 1.
Despite the loads of criticism that Neilson has received over his long career, he actually wasn't that bad of a fighter, and his opposition was better than many have given him it credit for.. His win list is hardly stellar, but most of those guys weren't tomato cans either... Lot's of undefeated prosepects, as well as aging, but still active fighting veterans on that record. Neilson also kept very busy over a 10 year period.. There have been some allocations of a fixed fight or two, but I don't know how true they are, and in either case, I doubt that his entire career was comprised of such things... While Corrie Sanders could have eneded it at anytime, I think that I'd give Neilson the edge...
Nielson was a good fighter. He was a bronze medalist in the olympics and had a good chin. He could beat Sanders no problem. Some of you guys havent seen Nielson in action. He was better than Sanders
the brian nielson who got beaten up by a faded mike tyson? I'm quite sure sanders wouldn't have been in the same situation. sanders by ko
Because that same faded Tyson didn't have enough left in the tank to beat the **** of the likes of Andrew Golota, right?
