Grand Rapids is Floyds hometown. Las Vegas is where he resides.

As for one fan, check out the Mosley vs Mayweather presser in Mosleys home state and see for yourself how many fans Mayweather has.

Oh yeah didnt Mayweather not have Brits lining up around the block waiting to see him train last time he was in England?

yep, he makes money on acting like a total dbag so that people will pay to watch him take punches, which he stopped doing years ago. he's the exact opposite of what a boxer should be in my eyes.

the guy has so much ****ing talent that he could literally avoid being in the media all the time acting like a total tool, be respected, and go out and beat the **** out of everyone he fights and make the same amount of money.

the only problem is that he is truly a total dbag and he does the exact opposite of going out and displaying his ridiculous talent. its a ****in joke.

Horrible post. How doesnt Mayweather display his talent. Keep in mind his talent isnt Pacquiao's talent. His game isnt going in there getting a busted ear drum looking like a battered wife and throwing 1,000 punches and landing 200 of them.

British fans were the reason for American PPV buys? How come Hatton hasn't been on American PPV before or after that fight with the exception of his fight with Pacquiao? Didn't Mayweather continue to make PPV fights? Calzaghe brought fans to America as well, his fight with Hopkins was on normal HBO and his fight with Jones did abysmal PPV numbers.

Trying to say Americans ordered PPV's just because some guy had fans follow him here is stupid. I think we deserve a little more credit than that.

Yes but most of those Brits queing were taken back to care that very same evening, they were on weekend release you see:good

As for Mosley having no fans?? well thats the sad state of affairs with American boxing fans at the moment. Mosley has been one of the best fighters of the modern era and nobody over there gives a **** about him :verysad, very wrong.

I don't think his style of fighting would allow him to stay out of the media and not act like an ******* and still make the same amount of money. To do that you need a certain type of style, which Mayweather does not have.

If De La Hoya was the primary seller with Floyd, why did his number get cut in half when he fought Pacquiao? Are you suggesting he was able to carry Floyd for another 1.2 million viewers? Or... should we just accept the obvious conclusion that Floyd is a tremendous draw?

PBF has always been PBF. Oscar made Floyd, Oscar made Floyd into a household name.

But yes, his personality sells. Either like him (and buy the fight to see him win) or hate him (and buy the fight to see him lose).

No your missing my point, i'm saying that Mayweather was the major draw in the fight over there but that hatton also played his part. The amount of publicity that the British fans got from going over their in the media gave the fight extra publicity and ADDED to the numbers that Mayweather would have pulled in.

    1. At least you'll come clean and admit that.

    2. Not to the extent that Floyd is.

    3. Based on what? Are you guessing? Where did you get that information?

    4. Comical story. Not relevant.

    5. I'll take that with a grain of salt. Besides, I think most boxers would. Hatton has a great following, and that means dollars and cents.

    6. No, he just holds the highest single-event number for Pay-Per-Views on record.

If Oscar made Floyd, why couldnt he do the same for Tito, Mosley and Hopkins?

Floyd outsells people with common opponents. That demonstrates his drawing power. It's a great measure.

Boxers should go in there to take punches? Obviously you're not a real boxing fan, because if you were you would know that boxing's about hitting and not getting hit. You do realize that defense is and has always been essential in boxing right?

When Mayweather was the nice guy, no one paid him any attention so he started talking. He wanted people to hate him so he could sell and get bigger fights. I see you're one of the people that he fooled into helping him.

    1. So, he's a dirtbag for not taking more punches, as a boxer should, in your view? Nice.

    2. No. If Floyd avoided the media, he would not be the draw that he is and would not make as much money.

    3. So, it would be a greater display of talent if he'd be a "true boxer" in your view, by taking more punches? What to make of this....
