I can respect that. I'm not saying Hatton didn't help at all, but I think Floyd could have sold with others as well after his fight with Oscar.

And were only talking America here, Ricky Hatton was the bigger draw in the British and European numbers.

Not really. There were a bunch of Mosley fans, Mayweather just had more.

Doesnt detract from your silly statement of Mayweather having no fans, sorry.

People on here do struggle to tell the difference between American/HBO PPV numbers and how many people world wide acctually paid to see a fight.

I cannot even imagine how many are watching Paq's fights in the Phillipines must be millions upon millions yet its all about HBO PPV - FFS :rofl

Of course, but you'd have to say that Mayweather helped Hatton sell in the U.K. do to the fact that this fight was the biggest PPV seller in Hatton's career.

Thats because they see it for free. Of course numbers would be bigger if the fight is free. If thats the case Mayweather vs ODLH probably would have done about half the numbers of the superbowl.

This is very true but you cannot only blame people for that as Bob Arum, who is Pac's own promoter so should use this to his advantage, focuses more on how the fight did on HBO so how are people gonna think that the numbers in say the Phillipines are as significant as the numbers on HBO.

Never said he had no fans i'm afraid, I did say nobody really gives a **** about him cos its true, trust me when he loses you wont either - all of Mayweathers fans, friends, hangers on will be out the door the second he is through as a top level fighter.

American PPV's are all that matter in most cases for American fighters. Fighters don't get paid by having Filipinos watching their fights in the Philippines, so I'm sure no one actually cares about who watches over there. As of right now, America is the media and financial capital of the world. Most of our sales in entertainment come from the U.S. in general.

Yes he did add significant numbers, but he is the biggest draw in boxing today and just look at the amount of people who wanted to see him when he was in Britain. He would have added more to the UK numbers than Hatton would have to the US although both were significant.

the promoters still earn a lot from this as they get paid for broadcasting rights/licenses.

Oh I see, because say 1 million people pay to see Mayweather (more than half of which are for his opposition) and 12 million watch Klit for free Floyd is more popular. :patsch

You reckon if they charged for a Klit fight it would not **** all over the HBO numbers you make all your points with.

1 million people didnt pay to see Floyd. 1 million people bought the fight. That means there could have been anywhere from 10 million people watching the fight.

When I saw Mayweather vs Oscar, there were 10 people watching at the house I was at. In all estimation I could figure 20-30 million people tuning in to that fight.

And I never said Floyd was more popular then the Klits. World wide im sure he is, but in Germany and probably mainland Eurpe proper the Klits are probably the bigger attraction.

Means nothing however, floyd has a massive followng. Again your argument was wrong.

HBO wont even air Klitscko fights, because they dont do any numbers in America.

Not nearly as much as those who actually spend 50 bucks to watch a fight.

Mayweather vs Oscar did hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue.

    Not nearly the same.
