Golden Boy offer Khan fight to ITV for nothing?

if they put this on ITV, 4 or otherwise, if it got decent ratings it would earn ITV's cash for the next showing, buld there way upto PPV again... no?

 

like someone said, calzaghe - lacy did decent numbers, and my mum knows who khan is, not calzaghe. (unless she saw the latest dancing shitty programme but that doesnt count)

 

Watch it in a bar/pub. Is what I'm gonna do. Mitchell-Katsidis + Khan-Paulie + undercards + night out in London = a good time :yep

ITV4!!! It should at least be ITV1 if it is ****ing free.

Fact is, boxing is not looked upon like other supports. It lacks consistency because there is no league. This means every fight night is an event and should be marketed as such. Khan vs Malignaggi can go on Primetime PPV or ITV but it still needs to be an event.

Primetime should enquire about showing it. It could make them go from zero to hero pretty quickly.

 

you cant really call ITV4 a minor channel. 30 million home have the it.

 

Primetime is the worst of all worlds for Golden Boy, **** money, **** buys and **** exposure.

 

Its a shame that none of the national broadcasters dont show this fight if it is offered for free. Take the American feed and show it. No need for them to send over a team to cover it either. Look at what most stations show at night whats stopping them from showing the fight.
Over here in Ireland boxing is on the rise and all of Dunnes fights when he was boxing was on RTE our BBC over here. Last year they showed a number of shows during the year and got decent numbers. Compare our fighters to the British fighters we havn't got a world champion and you look at Khan and Froch struggle to get on TV it is mind blowing how they have not got a tv deal. In the past Irish tv here have shown Duddy , Lee , McCloskey and Macklin fights live our main fighters 2 of those now are on Sky while the others are in the US most of the time.

 

I'm sure thousands will Sky+ it and watch in the morning.

would like to see Sky or ESPN set up a long term deal with Top Rank of GBP like Setanta did.

 

Probably get a repeat Sunday evening sometime as well.

 

People article said "Sky Box Office". If Sky are getting it on the cheap they should show it on SS1 for free, given the time it's on. They gave us Mayweather vs Marquez and Pacquiao vs Clottey for free ffs and I know which I'd rather watch.
