Was wondering if Froch had any interviews where he talks about the Abraham vs. Dirrell fight now that it's taken place. I LOVE this guy's soundbites....

FanHouse: Andre Dirrel over Arthur Abraham -- do you feel prophetic after having called that one way back in October?

Carl Froch: Well, it's because I boxed Dirrell, and I knew what Abraham brought to the table. And Dirrell just ran away like a girl when he boxed me. He was just running and holding. But he's a good figher -- he's got fast hands and he's got slick skills, and he used those skills and those fast hands to be negative against me.

But I knew that against Abraham, he was going to just punch the hell out of him, which he did for 10 rounds. But it was a shame the way that it finished for him, because I think that that takes a lot of confidence away from him, getting chinned in such a manner. But, yeah, I knew that he would beat Abraham.

But I'll be honest, I was hoping that Abraham was going to knock him out, and that's what happened, even though Dirrell did get the decision.

FH: Why did you want Arthur Abraham to knock out Andre Dirrell?

Froch: I'm not a big fan of Andre Dirrell and his attitude and what he stands for. But if you're talking boxing, when I say that he's a good fighter, he's got fast hands and slick skills. But that's just boxing. But if you're talking people, I wanted Abraham to win the fight and I wanted him to knock him out.

And I would say that that probably is personal, because Dirrell's a horrible person. At our press conference, I had to listen to a lot of his rubbish and a lot of his jive talk that a lot of people didn't hear, and I knew how he operated. People don't see that in the background, but I've seen it and I've gotten a taste of it and he's a horrible person.

FH: Do you think that Andre Dirrell was a better fighter against Arthur Abraham after having experienced a physical style against you that frustrated him?

Froch: Yeah, I think that that improved him. But the problem with Abraham is that he doesn't throw enough punches and doesn't put enough pressure on Dirrell. He almost gives makes it too easy for him by not working. Yes, he would have improved from the loss to me. And Abraham doesn't throw much and doesn't do much, and Dirrell got away without getting too much punishment.

Froch is mad that he looked foolish at times vs. Dirrel. Dirrel is a "horrible person?" I wonder what he said to Carl that would lead him to that conclusion. If he was just talking **** then Froch is being a baby. Froch talks **** all the time and I enjoy it, just because somebody else is doing it, it doesn't make them a horrible person

Also, beating AA is more impressive then anything Froch has done at this point

So Dirrell beating (questionably) AA is more impressive than beating the hell out of Taylor, beating up the current LHW world champ in Pascal, and smashing the fight out of Dirrell?

    Fail.

While there's an annoying smugness to him, after this interview I don't hate him as much as I used to.

The thing is, he's such a knuckle head, he'll go mano a mano with Art and he'll get hurt so bad. Forget Jermain, this will be KO of the year, calling it here and now.

How so? Froch just calls it as he sees it. At the press conference Dirrell was acting like a total twat getting in his face and spraying him down with spit like alot of black fighters, that'd **** me right off too.

Plus Dirrell losing a contraversial decision seems to make people forget just how badly he stank the place out that night. It was a horribly cynical performance, and if a man tried to take my belt like that I'd be rooting for him to get KTFO as well.

First of all I have always thought the use of the word fail is so comically nerdy. Moving on, needing a heroic last second knockout of shot fighter who retired one fight later to avoid losing is not what I qualify as “beating the hell” out of someone. Additionally, winning a close decision that could have gone either way in your home town against a prospect is not what I would call “smashing the fight” out of someone. Furthermore, I rate Froch’s win over Pascal as his best, but not nearly as high as I rate Dirrel’s win over Abraham. Lastly, there was nothing questionable about Dirrel’s win over Abraham. He was more than a 2-1 dog coming into the fight and AA won maybe two rounds up until the point where he egregiously fouled Dirrel. I think Froch is an exciting, yet technically abysmal fighter that will stick around for a while but will take his share of loses because of his short comings.

I don't know if you were so unlucky as to hear it in real life. Man, you just want to punch the guy (even if it's not directed at you).

Same goes for all that lingo - epic, ftw etc etc

You're sporting a game as your avatar and claiming a word is nerdy :patsch

Taylor was hardly shot, and Froch was facing Taylor in his backyard, he was'nt as far behind as people claim, infact Carl had a very nervy opening due to his new surroundings, then as teh fight progressed he started to pulverise Taylor, whatever way you look at it, he beat up Taylor and ruined him.

Pascal will beat dawson and anyone else at LHW, he is a vastly superior boxer to AA, AA is slow for the first few rounds stubby arms, bad movement and not much work rate, having said all this, AA took over from round 7 on, and clearly knocked Dirrell down twice, and should have at the very least had a NC ruling, as he was following up his knock down, and the ref didn't do his job and step in.

Dirrell was humiliated against Froch, he fell to the floor, he ducked, dived and ran the whole fight, he was petrified of Froch, and Froch humiliated him and roughed him up for good measure, had Dirrell faced Froch like he did AA, Froch would have sparked him out like AA did but in round 5 or 6.

Didn't Dirrell talk some nasty **** about Frochs mum at the press conference? I can imagine that he is a nasty piece of work. he comes accross on that 360 show as a nob head.

of course, everyone knows that carl is a complete nob head, but in an endearing way. plus he is also fantastic under interview.

Froch comes across as a dick sometimes, but he definitely speaks his mind, no Political Correctness required. For that, I enjoy reading / hearing what he says.

He seems to know what he's talking about as well. I'd love to hear him do commentary on a fight someday.

He actually has done a bit of domestic level punditry over here. He's pretty good, the guy can talk - he's articulate and funny in a dry way that not everyone gets. I think that's where alot of the hate comes from, they just don't get him.

'Smashing the fight out of Dirrell' - what fight were you watching? Your opinion is as dumb sounding as your Pineapple Dance Studios style avatar is dumb looking!
