Forget about who was better. Who would be the last Heavyweight fighter that you would like to see across the ring. For me I rate Dempsey,Liston,Tyson, as imposing looking fighters

Name some Heavy's with a scary look.

Who would you not like to see in the opposing corner

Shavers, Roy "Tiger" Williams, Max Baer (on a night that he's pissed), and a young George Foreman. Honestly, Earnie is enough to make me dash out of the ring with the boots still upright and empty in my corner.

If this were middleweight, it would be Bennie Briscoe or nearly any Philly middleweight.

I never understood the whole intimidation thing. I mean I used to fight these tattooed supposedly scary tough guys and they would try and intimidate me and I would just look at them like that **** doesnt make you any tougher or skilled. Then my polished white boy ass would proceed to hand them their heads. Intimidation is overated most guys that try and look tough and mean are the biggest *****'s. Guys like Tyson became intimidating because of what they did to their opponents not because of how they looked.

True fighters are much more distant and able to keep calm. Ever read about Michael in Paradise Lost in which he's never "shaken"? I'm a hybrid, but my thinking sometimes gets the best of me during sparring.

I remember a story in Ray Robinson's book when the guy in the opposing corner is this bent nose guy, rugged and mean looking and Ray expressed his fear to George Gainford, his trainer. Gainford said "Ray its the pretty guys you got to be afraid of the guys with the scars and bumps are the ones you can hit" Not always the best advice because Ray had his share of troubles with the tough faced guys, Fulmer,Lamotta,Basilio,Graziano, etc.

What's funny? A 6'8 250lbs guy with a KO% of 95 with a mean staredown. You tell me this is not intimidating: (from 2:30)

And you think a physical specimen of his size and look would not be intimidating? If you stood in front of him, i'm sure you wouldn't call him "goofy" nor would you be chuckling.

By the way, another one is Ike Ibeabuchi.
