OK guys, we need to make a legitimate P4P top 5 list from the currrent Cuban boxers campaigning in the pros...Since Lara just fought recently, we now have a more accurately assesment on his potential. Here are Cuba's best top 5 fighters as of right now IMO, let's try and put them in order to a top 5 P4P list. Let's remember that we are going to rank these prospects mainly due to their " talent, skills, amateur and pro careers... Guillermo Rigondeaux Erislandy Lara Yuriorkis Gamboa Odlanier Solis Alexei Acosta Let's try and sort them out in order as to who will succeed the most as a pro! I will give my top 5 list later... :good
Who was the Cuban who fought on the Lara undercard the other night? He was ****ing sick! I want to see more of him.
Here is my top 5 Cuban list... #1-Yuriorkis Gamboa #2-Guillermo Rigondeaux #3-Odlanier Solis #4-Erislandy Lara #5-Alexei Acosta Yes, I know that I left out many good solid Cuban prospects like Luis Garcia, Mike Perez, Yudel Jhonson, Yordanis Despaigne, Yunier Dorticos but I only included our best of the best !
There's a strong argument for Solis being number 1 to succeed the most, bearing in mind the ageing Klits and dont forget he already beat Haye in the Ams Everything being equal though Rigo is my No.1
I believe that you are talking about Puerto Rican featherweight Carlos Velasquez... It's hard sometimes to distinguish between the Cuban flag and the Puerto Rican Flag as they are merely identical. The Cuban flag has the " red triangle " while the PR flag has the " blue triangle "... :good
I agree with you here. Solis is actually second only in amateur accomplishments to Rigondeaux, and he has a very good chance of becoming Cuba's best pro fighter but would have to shed some pounds first! :good
No we don't. You should wait until they do something worth mentioning instead of making people tired of hearing their names.:deal
If Solis can keep from eating himself into a diabetic coma, I believe he'll Kayo Haye, again, and possible even beat Vitali. Wlad is just too experienced for him right now. But he's good....A quickier, nastier looking version of Sam Peter at his best.
Just a little note for those who don't know. Puerto Rican and Cuban flags were created that way because of the great association that existed between the two island. There was and organized movement to fight together against the Spanish government to get the independence for the two islands. In Cuba everything started at what is known as "El Grito de Yara". In Puerto Rico there was "El Grito de LAres". But somebody informed the spanish government about what was going to happen in PR and they were waiting for them and defeated them quickly.
For some reasons I notice that you get frustrated easily with the Cubans... This is mainly a topic for us Cubanos, anyone else that's offended buy their names can go post somewhere else!
WRONG!! I love cubans boxers and I am a Gamboa fan. Watching cubans boxers is like watching cousins fighting. But honestly man, you are starting to sound as a cuban version of a Floyd nuthugger. You need to be patient. More than likely most of this guys will not make as big as you think they will. OF course most of them might get a belt. (THERE ARE BELTS FOR EVERYBODY NOWADAYS). May be you should start a website and call it Cubansideboxing.
Why limit it to 5 fighters. Let make the list bigger so that our ESB addict will not be that bored. Vamos pa' lla ...that is my order ...although at the end is not that precise ... 1. Gamboa (already a superstar, with carism and already with the support of HBO, has the potential to finish what Trinidad wasn't able to achieve, defeat the Hopkins of the world, to the restore latin proud) 2. Lara (has youth and time on his side, already up there in the rankings, for me a lefty Mayweather, his handicap: he is Cuban) 3. Gomez (He already achieved what he was supposed to achieve , WBC cruiserweight champion with 10 consecutive defences, I believe few of the fellow Cuban will achieve that) 4. Rigondeaux ( he has a good trainer, he is a beast, although he arrived late lets see how much he has still inside) ... the description of the others remain in spanish ... 5.
