Winky Wright vs Kelly Pavlik

    I am talking current versions of both.

    I thought at one stage this might come off.

    How does it pan out? I have a nasty feeling it might be Kelly banging away non stop at Winky's legendary guard and Winky trying to steal rounds with the jab in the last minute of each round or so

    I think as of now, Kelly could actually stop him. Kelly added upper body muscle after the Espino fight. Winky landed flush an Paul Williams and couldn't buy a blink. I just don't see what a fight with Winky has to offer Kelly right now to be honest. He has no titles and looked dreadful against Williams.

    Since we have no idea of what Wright has left in the tank, I'm going to go tentatively towards Pavlik.

    Pavlik wins now. Winky looked slow, and old as **** vs Williams. Some of that had to do with Paul, but Winky is a shell of what he once was.

    A prime Wright would embarass Pavlik.

    i agree with all this except i dont think Winky will ever be stopped, unless it was on cuts... his defense is just too effective and his chin is fantastic

    Once upon a time I wanted to see this fight more than any other fight in all of boxing. Between them they have nine fights with three common opponents. "Flyweight to yo mamma's weight" Pavlik knocks any version of Winky out. That's why Winky told Pavlik "no" 5 or 6 times over the course of 3 or 4 years.

    A few years ago, Winky would jab Pavlik into oblivion. Now? UD for Pavlik.

    I think Pavlik would stop Winky. I guess I am one of the ones that retains a high opinion of Pavlik. I really do think he would stop him.

    Not sure what Wright has left. Pavlik's fight with hopkins shows that he has trubble with boxers. If wright still has something left he should win a clar decision. If he doesn't than Pavlik should win might even stop him late.

    At no point in Winky's career could he beat Pavlik in a jabbing contest. Winky was a great fighter, and I'm a big fan. However, Winky ducked Pavlik FOR YEARS, and he had damn good reasons.

    Like I said above. Winky hit Paul Williams flush and couldn't buy a blink from him. Pavlik would just beat him down without fear of retaliation.

    Why would pavlik be taking on winky? A win over winky @ this point of his career does nothing for pavlik but make him look even more scared of williams.

    Winky hasn't won a fight since 2006. I wouldn't place any sort of faith in him to beat a young, active, big, powerhouse like Pavlik.
