Yep, think he is done and dusted, but to be honest I never rated him that highly to start with, never a world class operator imo

I think he's done myself , i was right there watching him in Newcastle , and he got his head jabbed off , he was showing all the hall marks of a shot fighter , i like Arthur i hope im wrong , when you hear him speak he's very very enthusiastic about the sport you can tell he still loves the sport and still beleives he's got something left but i think he's done .

I'm sure I saw him and possibly sparred with him around 95-96 when Peter Harrsion was at New Beginnings in Motherwell. Billy Nelson would have been there at the time. He was smooth as silk then but I never thought he carried what he had to the pro ranks. Great guy he was though for a young un and different to Scott Harrison who I felt was really quiet at the time and just went about his business.

I don't think he fought enough in the pro ranks at the right times for whatever reasons but has some excellent wins under his belt without worrying the top bananas.

Didn't the Nigel Wright fight answer this? He couldn't have any excuses about weight in that fight, he was simply poor.

Alex Arthur was built up into something special by Sports Network, after the Gomez loss he just started slowly fading away, i'm not sure even having Freddie Roach as a 'long distance' trainer really helped that much as he hardly appeared in the corner when you probably need your trainer most.

He should never have left peter harrison. And your right in saying he was inactive at unfortunate times.

    Berbick beat Ali.....big wow :hi:

Bruce Seldon was once the WBA HW champ :hey

Audley was once the WBF Heavyweight Champion of the World:yep

I think Audley has achieved more in two years than what Arthur achieved over his whole career.

Now here enjoy some of my favourite moments of Arthurs career:
