Here's legendary trainer Joe Goosen's take on the matter; Boxers are students to their gurus and theres a respect factor. They dont necessarily question what theyre trainers are doing,..When youre getting your hands wrapped, if you trust your trainer, a lot of guys zone out, they have their headphones on. Until I see what was inserted, the jurys still out for me.
Margarito has had a year to think about the wraps and deny he had wraps so I just do not know what happened with the wraps. My problem I have about it is if he would have fought like hell to prove there was nothing in those wraps then maybe I would have thought he didnt know, but he was quiet and very humble right after the fight. That is the issue I have. Why didn't he argue it then like he does now? Anyway, If he did have wraps he didn't need them. That is what is the shame here. He would have beaten the guys he beat without it. Good puncher and swarmer. Do I think he used the wraps? Hard to say for sure but it looks like it. Do I think he needed them? No.. That is why I do not get this. The wraps would have hurt him as much as his opponent.
And let the racist scumbaggery by butt-hurt ball-suckers flood the forum!!! But in the end Margo still gonna come back bitches!!!
Yeah, I think Capetillo really screwed Margo. He needs to start layin fighters out, to prove that he can punch and it's not loaded gloves that had given him the edge.
If Margarito would have manned up and accepted some type of responsibility like "I want to apologize to the boxing fans and fellow fighters, I should have noticed something wrong with my wraps but I trusted my trainer and he screwed us" If he would have said that, taking responsibility for at least the lacking awareness, I would feel better about him boxing, but since he didn't I don't give that ******* any sympathy and I will not help him earn a living by paying for or watching cards he is involved in.
Hell naw, he knew! There were rumors going around he even wore them in sparring. Sparring partners were getting there face re-configured. I just remember the Cotto fight and how bad his face was mangled.
What most people fail to do in this case of whether Margarito knew or did'nt know his wraps were loaded, is gather all the facts of the case and make an informed opinion based on knowing those facts....... ......For instance, a very important fact of this case is that Nazeem Richardson from the moment Capetillo started the wrapping process was complaining to the inspector the Capetillo was using too much tape.... .....both camps and the inspector have acknowleadged this, that Richardson was repeatedly interupting the wrapping session and getting under Capetillo's skin. We're talking about a scenario here where Capetillo had not yet inserted the alleged plastered knucklepads. My question to you guys is why in the hell would Capetillo and Margarito if he knew.....risk inserting those hardened knucklepads knowing that Richardson was already being a dick about how Capetiilo was using the gauze and tape to roll onto Margarito's hands? This scenario is imo a major reason to give credence to Capetillo as he stated at the hearing, that he was flustered and shook up from Richardson dictating how he had to wrap Margarito's hands, that he grabbed the wrong pair of knucklepads to insert into Margarito's wraps. I believe that Capetillo being flustered and not thinking straight is very believable. Who in their right mind would knowingly insert hardened knucklepads into his fighter, knowing that Richardson was right there objecting to every one of your moves???????? This is a big fact to leave out when accesing this scenario, but one in which most in this forum dont give an ounce of credence to.
Is there a logical explanation as to why he would have these 'hardened knucklepads' as you call them in the bag in the first place?
Unfortunately in forums like these, people only line up the facts that suit their agenda and dismiss those that dont.
what a crock of ****. A professional boxer that doesnt know the rules of boxing?? Give me a ****ing break. he is guilty as charged:deal
According to Capetillo, the bag where he keeps his gauze and tape etc, contained premade knucklepads. The knucklepads he inadvertantly took out of the bag were those that he places on his fighters at the gym to hit the heavy bag. Thats Capetillo's story......
why would they have those kind of pads in the first place. Pads are to made right in front of the other team.. not made ahead and placed on the hands. What you are saying has no merit at all
