Apparantly you are not educated to the facts of this case.

In California, a trainer can bring his own gauze and tape......and apparently he can bring his already pre-made knucklepads as well, as neither the inspector or Nasim Richardson himself asked Capetillo that they wanted to hands on inspect the knucklepad that was inserted onto Margarito's first hand and signed off by the inspector as a legal legit wrap.

In Nevada for instance (where Margarito-Cotto took place) the trainer must use only material provided to them by the commision, so naturally the trainer would have to make the knucklepad right there in front of the inspectors.

I dont know where you're from, but here in the US, most of us believe in giving people who make a mistake a 2nd chance.

Margarito has served his suspension, so he has'nt gotten off without paying a price.

So when Margarito said at the hearing "I don't even know why I'd have something like that in my hands. I think I could've broke my hand so easily with that" was he lying or just mistaken?

Didn't Margarito know that those were the kind of pads that he used to hit the heavy bag? :?

Ive watched Margarito for many years before the majority of fans here had ever even heard about him. His punches have always had a devastating effect on fighters, he has been breaking down opponents in brutal fashion since he was an 18 year old prospect. Even the Margarito haters cant say he has been packing since then.

    This is all overblown!!!

Can you provide a link to Margarito saying he could have broke his hands on those knucklepads?
I've never heard or read that Margarito said that.

.....though I would'nt be suprised if he did say it.
According to all involved at the hearing, Margarito was fully cooperative throughout the whole investigation.

Thanks for posting that link cobbler, I had not read it till now........

Interesting to note that Margarito voiced that one of the knucklepads came up clean......something the CSAC did not mention when the lab results came back.:huh

.......Also interesting to note is that Margarito did'nt see any difference in the knucklepads when the Mosley camp took them away.

I think this is relevant, and if true, should'nt the CSAC have disclosed that only one of the knucklepads had traces of Calcium and sulfur, yet both according to Richardson and one of the inspectors, were hard???

Why was the one knucklepad that tested clean, hard????

after the cotto fight he should of be banned and disgraced. what if he was to have given him serious head injures? cotto was not the same fighter he once was after that an to take anthers fighter potential legacy away from him is a terrible thing to do. zero respect for margarito now.

well then California needs to change the rule. In germany you cant have pre made pads. you do bring your own stuff, but you make it there. Bottom like he CHEATED!!!

im from LA. Some times guys do something that they dont deserve a second chance and IMO this is one of them.

I understand he paid his dues, IMO it was not enough. He is back now, fine. But I will never respect the guy again

Disregard my contention earlier that one of the knucklepads tested clean........I misread the article......what it meant was that Margarito saw the Mosley camp haul away two knucklepads and by the time the Mosley camp was through with them, one came back dirty and the other was clean.......Margarito insinuating that maybe they were either tampered with, or the one knucklepad got dirty with so many hands from the Mosley camp inspecting it.

Thats another topic that few people take into account.......though I dont believe the Mosley camp tampered with the knucklepads, they did confiscate them and took them to Mosley's dressing room, away from CSAC inspectors.

.....but hey, we would'nt supect a loudmouth exaggerator like Richardson who accused Felix Trinidad of loading his wraps and saying that they had the potential to turn cast-like when in fact all that was in Trinidads hands were gauze and tape.....we would not suspect a drama queen like Richardson to tamper with the wraps......ohhhh nooooo!!!!
