According to Luis De Cubas they are negotiating for a july showdown in Miami

If anyone reads spanish and wanna read the officical article here it is rigo also says that he still with roach

The extent of Rigo's hype is unwarranted and I will back Moreno in this fight to grind out a win.

I don't know if it's for real or just media buzz (how's DeCubas negotiating for Rigo anyway?), but it's just way too much way too early. Rigondeaux just hasn't fought the kind of opposition to safely let him in a caliber of this, and Moreno is highly underrated in the very underrated bantamweight division.

Now the idea of competing at 118 first is a good one, but you just can't jump from level C to elite level, because Moreno is elite. 3-5 solid fights, a proper 12 rounder test at 118, a proper test vs. a legit puncher, a proper test vs. a negative fighter and if Rigo passes these tests, he should aim high. But there's simply no opening for an easy ride, all champs at 118 (and even at 122) are good and dangerous fighters under such conditions, no matter how talented you are.

Damn right. Bantamweight is close to the best division in boxing. Featherweight probably is. none of this LWW crap.

It's not too early. He has a better than 50/50 shot at winning, it's not a sure victory but if hes going to challenge for the title this year, he needs to take on some tough fighters. He does not have the luxury of going at a slow pace, so this is the kind of fight he should he having if he plans to be a champion within 10 fights.

Rigo better not overlook him...Moreno may be a phantom in terms of how much he's talked about on here, but he's a huge step up in class from what he's faced as a pro. Excellent fight.

The last fighter that Reynaldo "The dentist" López won just had a victory and 10 defeats. " It was September 13, 2008 in Colombia.

With such precedent López seems to mean any kind of threat to William Rigondeaux, who will return to the ring Saturday in the BankAtlantic Center of Sunrise. The Cuban is nevertheless careful.

"Here one not you can neglect with anyone." Any sticks a shock to one, and more against a veteran like him ", noted Rigondeaux, twice Olympic monarch during a presentation in Maximo Gomez Park, better known as the Park of the Domino of 8th Street.

In the five fights - all victories - had the Cuban professional has faced the caliber of López, a Colombian 36 years of withdrawal to the ensogados pugilistas.

After López, however, would come the first real challenge to "The Jackal", according to his representative Luis De Cubas. "

"We are negotiating a fight with Anselmo Moreno which would be the title of the 118 pounds", said De Cubas. "It would be to June or July at the Miami Convention Center or at the American Airlines Arena". "

Panamanian Moreno (29-1-1, 10 knockouts) comes from holder with a victory by decision over then undefeated Venezuelan Nehomar Cermeño in a match held on March 27 in Caracas.

Rigondeaux claimed to be prepared for any challenge, especially for making public his goal to try to seize three world titles (118, 122 and 126 pounds).

"I was recently working 12 days in California with Freddy Roach", confessed the santiaguero."Hence we are focused on return me a more aggressive fighter and attack more ".

And the Cuban wants certainly opponents more level.

"I am ready to come and what", he added.I don't mind that you or champion challenger. That is, I'm ready ".

Rigondeaux to López combat will be part of a bulletin board known as the "Fight for Haiti", and that Yunier Dorticos and Yudell Johnson, Cubans who face Winston Thorpe and Jessie Davis respectively will also be present. "

Two stellar fights of the evening, which will be broadcast by HBO, will be Haitian Andre Berto before boricua Carlos "El Indio" Quintana and Celestino Panamanian "Pelenchín"Caballero with Indonesian Daud Cino Yordan.""

The entries, which will start from $ 35 can be purchased through ticketmaster.com and at the offices of BankAtlantic Center (954-835-7000)

thats a stupid reason if you ask me, sure there are people who overrate him but for the most part everybody sees him as a bright prospect with great potential, which is how i view him.

This could be something, if Rigo's as good as everyone seems to think.
