Here's another one making bad analogies again. It crumbles every time. Pac doesn't work for Mayweather, Mayweather isn't the boss. The closest thing that represents the boss is the commission. Pac said if the commission asks for it he will comply. You're analogy fails. Here's a fact. Blood being drawn in some people affects them negatively psychologically, not physiologically. However if it affects you psychologically it can affect your performance. That's a fact. If you can prove to me that this is wrong then I will shut up. Otherwise crawl in in your own ass.
I like your thought process on this, and I think you've nailed the bolded part. Let's just put it this way...it's no coincidence that Arum's been keeping all of Manny's fights only against other Top Rank fighters. Given who he's mentioning next, there's a damn good chance of that trend continuing, which is unfortunate for everyone not named Bob Arum.
Where that theory falls apart is that Arum made an offer for a 24 day cut-off date after Mayweather proposed the 14 days. If Mayweather had said yes to 24, the fight would be on. So if Arum really wanted to torpedoe the fight, his strategy was **** and he got really lucky, cause there was a chance that MAyweather would have accepted the 24 day proposal. Arum had no control over that decision.
He sure had control over the 14 day decision and the decision to sign the Clottey 2days later. What a joke and its sad that you guys cant see it.:-(
Didn't Bob Arum originally say there was no 14 day option on the table until the mediator came out publicy saying that offer had been made from the Mayweather camp. I can't believe this is still being debated. If the Pac camp had stuck to one excuse no matter how silly they may have had some credibility. But first it was Manny is scared of needles (until pictures of him smiling/joking while getting tats surfaced), then it was because it drains him (But details came out that both fighters would be subject to the same tests), then its because Mayweather isn't Manny's boss so he cant make up crazy stipulations ( details of multi million $ weight penalty), finally they will do it but only up to 24 days out and Mayweather camp won't compromise, etc. Surprise surprise this is when the Clottey fight is made because Manny doesn't need to wait for Mayweather. I like Manny as a fighter but this whole episode makes him and his camp look foolish. Final straw = How can a grown man whose whole career since a teen has been in sports, is a multi weight champ, travelled the globe promoting, interviewing and such and is now trying to run for office not know what a steroid is. I am no fool.
the only reason 24 came into play was due to the ricky hatton video, and it had to be offered to make it appear like he wasn't trying to kill the fight but arum knew 24 was still a deal breaker because the window is just too wide the fact is, pac agreed, then cried about testing too close...floyd said fine, add a 14 day cut off (which should have be fine considering all the press by team pac about a few days, 5 days, a week, blah blah blah) the most damning eveidence in all is that team pac changed their position dozens of times, whenever the fight got close to being finalized following their pattern, even if floyd said ok to 24 days, something new would have come up for pac/arum to ***** about (i am not putting all this on pac, and i think only about 10% of it is his problem, and the rest is due to arum)
Arum knew that 24 days was too wide even though 14 days was acceptable to the Mayweather camp? no. The whole concept of Mayweather's 14 days proposal was that Pacquiao had supposedly given blood 14 days before the Hatton fight. The Mayweather camp tried to push Pac into a corner with that video. It turned out that they ****ed up their dates, and that Pacquiao had given blood 24 days before the fight and not 14. So the 24 day counter-offer made total sense as a compromise. It has nothing to do with the 24 day window being too wide compared to the 14 day window, and that Arum knew that Mayweather would turn it down. That's just dumb.
14 days was a compromise, and arum couldn't accept it floyd said up to the day of the fight pac said ok, um, err, um, no, uh, 5 days, um...err, no, uh 30 days floyd said, ok, 14, you did hatton's test at 14, so lets just go with that to get the fioght made pac said, no 30, me no playee by floyd's rules, um err, duhhh then paperwork showed the test was 24 days, so arum tried to make it "appear" like he was compromising (where as floyd already had compromised, and it was refused) said 24 then, they deny floyd made the 14 day offer and almost at the same time had clottey on the phone and go and do a blood test @ 19 days for the clottey fight and spar 10 rounds after wow
Except that maybe he should be training? That is excessive as hell. They don't test like that in any sport, not even for the Olympics. 5 times in that short a time span is ridiculous.
dont mean to sound like an ignorant hick, but isnt there a way to do the tests without drawing blood.........like urine and hair testing that they do for pre employment and probation drug screening?
