Tried listening all I heard was "I got a gift in my hometown, I was made to look like a club fighter by a guy who's never been 12 rounds before, Im probably going to get brutally KO'd in my next 2 fights"
"Ray Robinson's greatness depended entirely on a champion of my calibre being born in the future." (Carl Froch)
Froch did not get a gift against the coward Dirrell. Dirrell refused to fight him, ran, fell down on canvas, complained and held. If Dirrell had fought Froch, Froch would have knocked him out, which is the reason Direll refused to fight him. That fight was not even close. A man vs. a chicken.
I agree that it was not really a gift. Carl won, BUT ....... it seems it was more Dirrell's inexperience, than Carl's skill? Dirrell had already grown a lot for the Abraham fight it seems... although perhaps he didn't fight (and instead ran for most rounds) because he was relentlessly pressured? That could be - hard to know for sure.
Go look up the fight video which shows dirrell holding at every opportunity. He is right actually it's a fact whether you think he lost or not dirrell held and ran any time he could.
for a fluid boxer like dirrell, abraham is target practice. So this "new and improved" direll im not buying, atleast not yet. Fighting froch, who has the reach and height, while piling on the pressure, is an entirely different matter.
Froch haters make me laugh. Some twats talking about he'd bet his kids on froch getting kod by kessler and abraham. Anyone who knows boxing will tell you those could go either way. There's a section of Ameribums who've just let their bitterness after the Dirrell fight totally blind them to Froch's abilities. Before Dirrell decided to stink out the Nottingham arena Froch still held impressive wins over Taylor and current LHW champ Pascal, not to mention he'd risen to the top of the Brit domestic SMW division (a division that's traditionally very strong over here).
Just watched the other vid of Abrahams team bitching about the DQ.Gary Shaw firing back his views on it saying his fighters won`t fight in Germany.Abrahams team should`ve just shut up and forgot it.
I honestly believe that Dirrell threw away the chance of beating Froch by realising too late in the fight that he could actually win! With his speed he could have easily built up a big lead on the scorecards but he left the rounds too close to call for the judges. That's a risky strategy at the best of times, but near suicide when you're fighting in a champions back yard and trying to take the belt from him. Dirrell was too negative, for too long. If they had a re-match i'd pick Dirrell to win by UD, but on that night Froch was the deserved winnner for the reasons given above. Like or hate Froch, he's willing to fight anybody, anywhere, anytime. If a few other high profile boxers followed the same lead then boxing would'nt be the joke it is today.
