Sugar Ray Leonard and Thomas Hearns. You basically need to have 2-4 inch height advantage, 2-6 inch reach advantage, and be a natural welterweight who has moved as high as cruiserweight giving up no advantages in size to a guy who fought the majority of his career at 130. Thats how you beat Floyd. :rofl
A good boxer with reach, fast hands and power will give Floyd trouble (i.e. prime Oscar). A southpaw with quick hands and feet will give him trouble too ( Judah, Pacquiao).
Pacs style will beat him, he has ring intelligence, speed, power, southpaw, foot movement, easy fight for pac
Tommy Hearns is probably the worst style match-up for Mayweather. You want someone like THAT to beat pbf.
Quartey and Mayorga do not fight like the Welterweight Mayweather. Forrest' length, jab and power will be a problem for Mayweather.
Either very tall and long with great boxing skill like Tommy Hearns(and enough power to really make Floyd think....the Sugar Rays fit here too) Or a swarming fighter who was intelligent like Duran or just crazy buzzsaws like Pac and Pryor. They could all at the very least trouble Floyd greatly so that he cries when he gets the razor thin decision and demands a rematch or even suffers his first loss. I also think any fighter who Floyd claims to not know who he is can beat him(Paul Williams). Floyd doesn't have the power to halt Williams nor get any respect. If Paul kept punching even after getting cracked numerous times by Martinez's counters, then he'll really give Floyd nightmares.
then after that, watch castillo 2 lolz. wasnt as bad as everyone thinks. And the first fight is a very tough fight to score.
Castillo beat Void, but Void has his own judges. An old Oscar beat Void, it was a split decision, a prime Oscar would have knocked Void out. Pac's style is wrong for Void and Void knew it.
You would need to make him fall apart. A relentless style a la Calzaghe could make him capitulate as he always takes small break here and there. But there are really noone in boxing right now with that level of activity. ... Although... Pac is sort of very active. Maybe that's enough.
I didn't know that cotto lost because of stamina. You mean cotto's stamina was good only for 1 round?
constant pressure and the best engine in the business in out movement with six an seven punch combos add incredible speed with super middleweight power an you have the pac man. golden boy wasnt far off if he had a better engine this wouldnt even be a topic.
i wonder sometimes whether any of you actually watch boxing or know what you're watching. Oscar threw the jab consistently in two rounds in the fight the second and either the 7th or 8th thats it the rest he was following mayweather and generally getting beat to the punch. Judah's success early is overrated too. Zab likes to set up his speedy combos off the jab but from round one pbf was catching his jab it just took him a few rounds to adjust to the speed of what was coming behind it. Once he adjusted to zabs speed and the body shots began to take their toll it was goodnight zab. Get real about the castillo fight. Yeah it was close but mayweather was injured and he put it right second time. Every single opponent since that fight has said they're gonna pressure him, throw punches and make him fight. Thats the style he loves to fight. I think its gonna take someone to make mayweather come out of his comfort zone and come to them. Get mayweather out of his shell and try and catch him that way.
