After the win over Abraham, there's a large group of fans vastly overrating this guy. We all knew that Dirrell was a horrible match-up for both Froch and Abraham and yet he is only 1-1 against those two, with neither performance being exceptional.

Why? He clearly doesn't have good boxing skills. All this talk of him being P4P or a top 168lber is just wrong. He lacks true boxing skills and relies on his fast hands and footwork to get him out of trouble.

The problem is, any fighter who lands against him is going to send him running scared. It happened against Froch and Abraham and in other fights too. If this guy gets hit, he will make it the most abysmal fight possible to disrupt his opponents rhythm.

I would genuinely have liked to have seen him removed from the Super 6 after the Froch performance. 'Efforts' like that hurt boxing so much, they should be punishable. I don't think he earned his money, I don't think he earned a fight against Abraham and I don't think he deserves any other big fight in his career. People can call Froch a caveman but at least he wants to fight.

I doubt he beats any good boxer, who he doesnt have a huge style advantage over, because he doesn't have the fundementals. Good physical skills but that's about it. Overrated, overhyped and capable of delivering the most appalling performances.

    you are obviously from europe

  3. After the Froch fight I would have totally agreed with you but did you watch the Abraham fight? I thought he boxed much better and more positively against Abraham. You say he used fast hands and fast feet to get out of trouble, that's good boxing isn't it?

So you are saying that Fast hands + Good Footwork = Bad Boxing Skills....that makes no sense at all

Well if you read his location you will discover that to be true... What's your point because I don't see it.

I think that Ward vs Dirrell could end up looking like PBF vs Judah stylistically. Dirrell doesn't like to get hit and although Froch and Abraham had a hard time putting leather on him, that will not be the case with someone as fast and as smart as Andre Ward.

Point is you EMEA guys, in my experiences in ESB, are very biased in your opinions and bitter when your boxers lose. I bet if Dirrell had gotten wins over Taylor and Ward, my man Jack over here wouldn't be questioning Dirrell's "fundamental" boxing skills (which it is obvious he possesses).

This thread imo is more a reaction to fact the Eurobum Froch is slated as absolute gash and just waiting to be KO, even tho he beat Dirrell, Were as Dirrell is being slated as P4P top 10 even tho he lost to the eurobum Froch?
If you get what i mean. If ppl wasnt so harsh about Froch it wouldnt look so hypocritical when same people try boost Dirrell.

If Dirrell had a little more experience at the world level, he would have beaten Froch more convincingly. After that he went on to almost dominate
AA, and actually got into exchanges with one of the hardest punchers P4P.
    At least give him credit.

I couldn't care less if he's American or not. I don't get involved in race, nationality or anything like that when picking my favourite fighters. If you're going to put my opinion down to me being anti-American, or pro-European, why would I have an avatar of an American?

I'd imagine my top 10 is a mix of American, Latino and European boxers. I'm not biased.

No, I don't think it is. Obviously the most important thing is hit and not get hit, but he has a lot of technical flaws and is overly reliant on his physical attributes, rather than skill. Much like Jermain Taylor was, actually, except he isn't anywhere near as good as Taylor was.

Well, I'm saying he'd get outboxed by Ward  Taylor is shot now, but prime Taylor would have easily beaten Dirrell.

That's my point - Dirrell won't beat these guys because he lacks the skills. The fact is, he had every concievable advantage against Froch and Abraham physcally and stylistically, yet didn't look good. Froch won and Abraham looked better every time he threw punches.

He's just not a good boxer. He will be exposed before the end of the Super 6. I think Kessler knocks him out.
