I don't question the weight, or the outcome at 140 142 144 or 146, but it's still the professional thing to do to make the agreed upon weight.

    Your missing the point deliberately.

The 2lbs issue people had in regards to the pac v cotto fight was that cotto had to come in at 145 and put his WW TITLE on the line. That was the issue.

    you're.

And no. The issue was "weight draining cotto"

Go back and read the threads.

It is, he screwed him on that part. Sort of, I mean, if you think the outcome doesn't change.

All that happened was, JMM was told one thing, it was something else, got paid 600,000./

Who cares about the 2 pounds as a determinant of who won? The bottomline is he cheated. He might have come 500 grams over, for all I care.

It is just that Floydettes can not even accept that what happened there was cheating.

You can argue whether the 2 pounds made a difference or not, because it most probably did not matter. Afterall, that fight was already horribly stacked against JMM, even without the 2 pounds. But that was not the point.

You don't really know how to debate. Stick to the topic at hand! Then move on to another topic.

Well at least you can admit he disrespected marquez by not making the weight.

I just don't understand this idolatry of mayweather.

Yeah, he's a great boxer, but he is not the 2nd coming of SRR and he is not perfection.

Iv'e read the threads and the main issue was cotto having to put his title on the line but come in at 145. Pac was challenging for the title but he was not prepared to fight at the WW limit.

Cotto weighed 146 i think for the clottey fight, so 145 wasn't out of this world for him to make, hence the reason why I say this was not the main issue. The main issue was the fact that cotto was the champ and he was defending his title at a catchweight.

Okay, then explain every floyd fanatic going insane trying to establish the point that "ww = 140-147" when discussing marquez mayweather?

It's all hypocritical and it's all semantics.

    You guys never debate objectively.

And no. They were saying that pac was weight draining cotto, and don't ****ing tell me otherwise, I was engaged in the conversations, idiot.

Can't even seem to know the difference between apple and banana,

Pac offered 145 and 145 was the contractual weight, and Cotto accepted it. If they were not comfortable with that weight, then they simply refuse. But they accepted, and Cotto did not use it as an excuse for losing.

The contract for Mayweather-JMM was at 144. Mayweather offered 144.

    Big difference.

A spelling mistake on a forum. Wow. Big deal.

And like I said you like to call people idiot's when all your posts have done is to show you to be a very bitter insecure individual who has admitted that he writes garbage just so he can wind people up.

    You are how old again?

The fight was negotiated that way and it did not violate any rules of the WBO (or any boxing organization like WBC, IBF) when it comes to title defense. Welterweiht fights are at limit of 147 and as long as you are within the welterweight weight, the belt is on line. The inly question is if the boxer exceeds the welterweight limit.

The problem with the Mayweather fight was not about the weights because they sure damn can do it, but by the manner by which the event unfolded. Changing the contract that was submitted to the commission (JMM's cntractm as Mayweather's contract was never submitted) on the eve of the weigh-in is a sinister move, that never ever happened in boxing.
