Never really get this theory. Calzaghe's fights were being shown on US TV anyway. What difference would it have made if they had been geographically located in America? A few hundred people might have seen him live?

1980s Iron Mike, lbflb Rocky Marciano is a top 5..he was fighting at or around the 180s in lbs. Joe Calzaghe, is a very good fighter.

"Come to wales and accept a pittance" is not a serious fight offer.

Jones refused to fight Michalczewski for years and for big money.

"Come to wales and accept a pittance" is not a serious fight offer.
Reverse that then "go to america and accept a pittance" is also not a good offer. The problem is Calzaghe just like Jones,Hopkins and the rest was a champion and expected to be treat accordingly. ALL of them beleived that other ppl should come to them and their lies the problem. EGO and PRIDE.
Not that it would change peoples opinions if he had crossed the pond earlier. Froch has and look how well he is respected for it.....

Glenn Johnson 3x. Jones made offers to Eubank, Benn, and Jirov. If he ducked someone it was Michael Nunn as his #1 mandatory for the WBC at LHW. I like Calzaghe but I hate some Calzaghe fans. They don't know **** about boxing

I don't think that anybody would be competitive against a prime Roy, including Calzaghe.

No he didn't. Jones turned down the Jirov fight saying that," Jirov wasn't a big enough name." Eubank offered him a fight in 1996 and Jones turned him down saying that," Eubank is no ggod to me after losing twice to Collins." Benn called him out in 1995 and according to Jones it was King who stopped the fight from happening.

You are right about the Calzaghe-Johnson situation though and the Jones- Nunn situation
