How do you rate Timothy Bradley?

Personally, I'm amazed by the hype Timothy Bradley is getting. Don't get me wrong..he's a good little fighter. But I've still seen nothing to suggest he should be anointed as the best junior welterweight in the world.

Bradley's best wins come against Kendall Holt and Junior Witter. Quality fighters in their own right, but two very hot and cold fighters and not the type of victories to warrant P4P recognition. Even then, Bradley had struggles with both of them, and incidentally both Holt and Witter were easily disposed of in their fights after meeting Bradley. His best performance probably came against Lamont Peterson, a fighter without any notable victories.

Yet, based on those three fights, he's seemingly been unofficially dubbed as the top fighter at junior welterweight, and the assumed favorite over anyone in the division.

He has a fair resume..but some have even went as far to suggest he's worthy of being top ten pound for pound. Others even took it further than that suggesting he'd be competitive with Mayweather and Pacquiao. While I'm not completely convinced this guy beats Amir Khan, Victor Oritz, Marcos Maidana, or even the current version of Ricky Hatton...let alone those two.

Meanwhile guys like Chad Dawson or even Paul Williams, who actually have beaten quality fighters, don't get nearly the hype and don't seem to be as highly regarded. It's mind boggling to me, really.

Well for starters.... that last sentence is a lie. Paul Williams gets more hype then any other fighter in boxing, and is easily the 2nd most nuthugged fighter on this forum behind Haye.

2nd of all.... based off resume, it'd be idiotic to rate anybody OTHER then Bradley as the top 140 pounder right now.

Could Alexander beat him? Possibly. But until he does, Timmy is the top man at 140.

I do. Daily. Williams has the most delusional groupies on the forum. He is deemed as pretty invisble for a guy who's been beaten twice.

Based off resume, who should be the top guy then considering Pac doesn't even fight at 140 lbs? And Bradley would definately beat Hatton, Ortiz, and probably Khan at this point. We'll see about Maidana.

Ricky Hatton and Devon Alexander, for starters both have as much claim to that title as Bradley. Maidana would have a case too had the Kotelnik decision went his way.

This guy barely scraped by Kendall Holt and Junior Witter. I have my doubts.

He is definitely one of the best 140 er. Is he the best? Hard to say since that weight class is PACKED with talent - with or without Pac.

He is not top 10 P4P worthy (yet?) since his recent wins do not qualify him in my opinion. He is also a bit feather fisted which means he might have difficulties above 140. If that is the case and he tops off at 140, there are 2-3 guys there that can legitimately beat him (Valero, Alexander, Maidana - even Cayo).

So unless he beats one of the top 3 at 140, I am not going to put him on my current top 10 P4P list.

~Paul Williams is the most overhyped fighter on this ewhole forum and every other bloody forum!

Bradley has done much more than Alexander, and look at the hype he's getting!

I don't agree with that. NBA and Walk With Me are pretty much all the hype this guy gets. But even than, the hype Williams does get is at least warranted based on the fighters he's beaten.

:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl @ Hatton. This is no longer 2007.

And Alexander has only beaten Witter(AFTER Bradley beat him) and Urango.

Bradley's three solid wins over Holt, Campbell, and Peterson outweight beating Urango.

Alexander in time might prove to be BETTER then Bradley, but at the moment... Bradley has the biggest claim to being the top man at 140.

The guy is running from Alexander. Maidana is an over-hyped, one-dimensional fighter.

Best wins for Bradley are Witter and Holt. Alexander's best wins are Witter and Urango. Not that much of a difference.

 Ricky Hatton is washed up. He probably can't even make 140 lbs. anymore. I guess if we went strictly off of resume, and I guess if he could make 140, you could make him the top dog. He would definately lose to Bradley though.

Are you serious about Alexander? Not even based purely off resume is he ahead of Bradley. And I remember you saying that Alexander was nothing special and that you thought he would lose to Urango. That was a nice win for Devon, but for me that just proved that he wasn't a fraud. Urango is a two time paper champ. He's a one handed fighter who's slow, telegraphs his punches, and knows nothing about defense. A guy with Devon's skillset should eat up a one dimensional fighter like that any day of the week.

Maidana does have a solid case though. Thankfully, they'll sort that out in the ring.

Peterson is a better win than Witter IMO. Well Bradley's Witter win is 5x better than Alexander's Witter win. The Urango win is not impressive - remember styles make fights.
