Fresh from Dan Rafael's chat on ESPN.com... ____________________ Update : From Dan Rafael's chat moments ago... _____________ Christmas 2009 (ohio) Dan, who do you see facing Devon Alexander in August? Dan Rafael (12:13 PM) I am told that Don King, who is in Germany this weekend for the Chagaev-Meehan heavyweight eliminator, was also there to meet with Andras Kotelnik and is close to a deal for him to fight Alexander.
Why is the Judah fight not happening? I would like to see him against Guzman, but I think that will be too much bonus for Little Tyson.
I think it still has something to do with Judah's promotional status. Not sure if that was ever cleared up or not.
Thanks for that update.:good But that Judah fight would have been a better test for Alexander. Judah's power at 140 is more pronounced.
If Alexander KO's Kotelnik he has to be seen as the biggest puncher at lww. It would be the 2nd granite chin that he's cracked in successive fights. That being said, I think Kotelnik is a better fighter than he showed against Khan. He has an exellent amateur pedigree and can be a tricky customer. It's not in Alexander's nature to stay on the back foot and pot shot as Khan did, so Kotelnik may have more opportunities to get his punches off. Nonetheless, I fully expect Alexander to win and win convincingly. This would be a good test for him at this stage of his career. A former champion with good skills and an iron chin.
God dammit why does ANYONE wanna see Guzman fight again? BTW he has no business calling himself "Little Tyson" anymore, he's not, nor will he ever be anything close to Tyson... except for the way his eyebrows are shaped, that i'll give to him. :yep
and tell me when is the last time Judah made 140? He talks and talks about it, but never actually fights there. But, yes, King and Judah aren't on any kind of terms so this is a pipe dream.
