As much as I love Alexander, I am disappointed to learn today, via Dan Rafael, that he wants to fight Kotelnik. It's an okay fight, better than some of the other names thrown out there like Spadafora or Torres, but it pales in comparison to a Guzman fight. It's not in the same league, same planet or universe.

The timing is perfect, this fight makes total sense. These guys just bludgeoned their opponents on HBO. They are the only stars at 140 without a fight lined up. And the fight is a fascinating matchup. These two guys are at the very top of the list of the most gifted boxers in the sport. They have styles that cannot be duplicated, skills that cannot be taught and they are both on a mission to destroy everyone in their path.

Alexander will be around long after Guzman is gone. This fight cannot wait. A win by Alexander would be epic and solidy him as top 5 P4P right now. It would leave future opponents pissing themselves.

A win by Guzman and he becomes the man at 140. He erases any doubts in the minds of the non believers. He starts dictating the fights he wants.

I was downtown today, going to get a bite to eat. Ran into a guy with a Mayweather shirt. Asked him if he's familiar with Guzman and Alexander and if so, would he like to see this fight in August. He said "**** yea." So there you have it, the public demands this fight.

  2. Wait...you and one guy with a Mayweather shirt constitutes the public?

Well my vote cancels out at least one of you, Hell no I don't wanna see that fight. Guzman doesn't deserve yet another big fight after the bull**** he's pulled 3 fights in a row. Let alone giving him a top fighter in a new weightclass. Hell no.

I am the public and with my vote of apathy it now appears that the public DOES NOT want to see this fight. 1 For -- 2 Against. I was the guy in the Mayweather shirt and once I figured out who you were talking about I changed my vote.

You don't want to see great fights? Time for you to get over the unfortunate issue at the scales. Nobody remembers that. The people that watched HBO on March 27 remember a healthy and motivated Guzman delivering an ass kicking to a guy his own size. They want to see more.

**** off does the public demand this fight.

Guzman deserves absolutely no more opportunities and no more paydays, why the **** should he be given another shot? If the judges in the first Funeka-Guzman werent so corrupt or blind then Guzman would be finished.

HBO should concentrate on getting Funeka another date, not Guzman

  6. Bro I love great fights, but Guzman has never been in one. You know what I really remember when I think of this guy? I remember the piece of **** performance he gave against Humberto Soto.. It was more like a long distance running race than a fight. The guy hasn't stopped anyone in 6 years (25 pounds ago).

Alexander has MANY better options than Guzman's overweight ass, as if he could even make 140 anyway.

Alexander would be top 5 P4P? Laughable.

    Name one better option.

That Soto performance was great. He had prime Guzman reflexes that night. Guy is like a magician. He kicked the crap out Soto for most of the fight and stayed out of harm's way like a smart fighter should.

I'm not sure what public you are in, but count me out of it.

Even if they signed the fight it wouldn't happen anyway. Guzman would come in weighing 173.

Alexander needs 4 or 5 more wins against legitimate competition before we can start talking P4P IMO.

    Potentially would be

    Mayweather
    Pacquiao
    Dawson
    Alexander
    Ward/Bradley/Williams/Dirrell

  14. You are clearly delusional and outnumbered.
