Well put; in fact i slightly favor Martinez over Kelly as i feel he's a more seasoned boxer, quicker, and quite crafty especially with his counterpunching....But he should get the idea that he can "overpower" Kelly out of his head, that's a detrimental way to think against a full blown middleweight....

 

i like pavlik,its a shame whats has happened to his career in the last 18 months,they should have never matched him with hopkins,i knew hopkins would dominate kelly & i said as much on here,but thats all good in hindsight i suppose.as for this fight i think its a great matchup that will turn out to be a great fight,its hard to pick a winner because the'y're very well matched,recently ive been thinking martinez takes a close decision but over the last few days ive kinda got it in my head that pavlik wins by late stoppage.either way it'll be a great fight no doubt.

 

Humble guy that Martinez. Too bad because I like the guy but I think he's going to be demolished by Pavlik. I would have much rather seen Martinez get a rematch with Williams.

 

I happen to like both of these guys. But after the P-Will fight, I was convinced that Martinez was too slick (on top of being a southpaw) for Kelly Pavlik's plodding, 1-1-2 style. I think Martinez wins a UD.

HBO had Sergio talking about Pdub also. They are pushing for the Pavlik/Williams fight still. It is total BS if people really believe fighters are so focused in and OUT of the ring that they think of nothing else but their next opponent.

 

Pavlik was winning amateur titles when Martinez was just entering the sport. Kelly has fought a better class of opponents. How can you think Martines is the "more seasoned boxer"? Serious question.

The moment they announced this fight Sergio Martinez started talking about knocking kelly Pavlik out. He should be talking about using his speed and mobility to force Pavlik to chase him for 12 rounds, but he's not. He is talking about the most foolish fight plan he could possibley adopt.

 

Maybe they will just 'step to him and shatter that grade a china chin?

 

I feel it's quite possible for him to KO pavlik. I think he is alot stronger than people think. I didn't get to see him prior to the cintron fight so from what I've seen he can punch. I think coming with a gameplan to KO Kelly is very foolish and don't believe he is even gameplanning like that. I think he's just talking it and his team knows that martinez is gonna catch pavlik with some unseen shots and hurt Kelly at some point as the fight goes on. Martinez has the same tools to duplicate and expand on the hopkins exposure and will do so to a UD (possible third robbery).

In as much as I can see Kelly eating him alive and shitting him out...... yeah, I can see that I guess....
