I like the guys who absolutley bomb out men their own size on film, so Jackson, Foster are the two definitive choices for me. However, Fitz and Walcott will likely be the most frequent mentions in the thread, and I have no problem with that either. Jar me for one name and i'll pick Foster. When he hit flush guys dropped like they were dead.

I make a wildcard pick: Joe Choynski.

Amazingly, Bob Fitzsimmons still has a strong case.

For power in every punch in the arsenal, I will stay with my pick.

Julian Jackson is also a beast but not much of a jab or uppercut. Still, preternatural power....

It's a good one, Louis hit consistantly very very hard but it is the case that fighters with very very good chins shipped a lot of these punches to Louis and were able to hang on. I think guys like Jackson and Foster were basically unsurvivable (not a word). Under more complete criteria I think Louis, Robinson and Tyson are the three who would get the most mentions.

If you're allowing fighters who don't have the KO highlights reels I think that he and Walcott are amongst the definitive choices. Fitz was weighing in at 154 one year and scoring one punch KO's over 180 plus men some years later.

Marciano at 185lb back around 51-52 has to be brought up in this discussion. Also how about Tommy Hearns at 147-154lb?

hearns is definitely brilliant and had startling power but he used tremendous leverage and technique. marciano used his leverage and physical strength. guys like jackson and even shavers just needed to tap you and you went to sleep

Another wildcard: Prince Naseem Hamed. Some of his victims looked like dead.
