Sometimes he throws punches and he looks like a drunk emptying an ashtray, but the guy falls over like he's been shot in the face with a 12 bore.

How do you answer this question?
Answer--With a question..Do you mean the most powerful pure puncher ever[two hands]or do you mean P4P,best pure puncher? I have a few in mind...
    Best pure punchers MUST be a heavyweight , therefore...Joe Louis,Jack Dempsey,and Mike Tyson[all desructive]...
But, P4P pure destructive puncher, who destroyed much HEAVIER quality opponents, it has to be Ruby Bob Fitzimmons, who at 165 pounds kod such larger by 30 punds or more as Peter Maher,Ed Dunkhorst[100 lbs],James J Corbett, bullish Tom Sharkey, Gus Ruhlin etc..What 165 pounder in history could even attempt this? Fitzimmons was a freak of nature at c160-165lbs..Gigantic shoulders and cable like arms, atop a very narrow waist, and pipestem legs, thus accounting for his middleweight like weight...Therefore I would pick the amazing blacksmith Bob Fitzimmons,as best pure puncher P4P...

    Sam Langford ..
    Bob Fitzsimmons ...
    Jack Dempsey ...
    Joe Choynski ---

Dempsey was 12 pounds heavier than Foster and flattened monsters. Foster could not do crap at heavyweight ...

You want a sleeper, Ray Robinson.

In my humble opinion Joe Louis is the best overall puncher in history. Honorable mention would be guys like:Dempsey, Frazier, Robinson, Liston, Hearns, Duran, and Tyson before he went to Tokyo.
