I re-watched and re-scored Barrera vs Morales 1 for the 1st time in years last night

I'll have to watch the 3rd fight again because I don't think i was close at all.

 

MAB won it.

 

go and watch highlights of erik morales on youtube and look at the comments pac fans seem to hate him alot and then morales fans argue back....its quite funny to watch you can hear some ******ed **** on there for excuses lol

 

Most of the bad replies usually come from bored, young teen kids who just wanna troll and pick an internet fight. Just letting off steam after a school day's work.

 

just because it had a lot of close rounds doesnt mean those rounds could go either way.

If fighter A edges fighter B in a very competitive bout with Fighter A winning each round 51% to Fighter B's 49% im scoring that fight 12 rounds to 0 for fighter A everytime.

 

as far as i remember, i scored the 1st fight to MAB, 2nd to Morales and 3rd to MAB. i still haven't rewatched the first 2 fights, but i'm sure that the 3rd fight was a clear win for MAB.

I agree with just about everything here.

I do however feel Morales was a tad quicker at 122 lbs than Barrera, his physique however didnt enable him to retain his speed at 126 or 130, Marco had the quicker hands at 130, there wasnt much between them at 126... the speed was never a huge deciding factor between them TBH anyway, Morales refusal to box Barrera in fights 1 & 3 are the sole reason that people even debate who is the better fighter IMO... it made for 2 excellent fights tho so no complaints.

Barrera CHOSE to box in the second fight, not Erik, and it won him the fight for me.

 

Ive watched this fight more than any other fight tho, it was an even fight if judged as an entirety, I had it for Morales on a rd by rd basis tho... a draw would be the fairest result.

Best fight Ive seen yet, anywhere.

Barrera tried to draw Morales in close in the 2nd half because his boxing wasnt working in the 1st half but Morales still took 4 of those last 6 rds because when he boxes, it doesnt matter what Marco does, Erik`s superior distance game gives him the clear advantage.

 

I thought the first half of the fight was even, and Barrera won most of the rounds in the second half. Take your Morales glasses off and re-watch the fight. This myth needs to be busted once and for all.
