:rofl:rofl how are people saying they are impressed with him? He was **** untuil that wild punch. Oh yes, he knocked out the mighty Michael Sprott to save his arse.
Totally agreed. I've said so on several occasions in the past but I think the hate the guy gets is pathetic and even now people (not everyone) are looking for ways to **** on his parade. Incredible finish to the fight and also a very good performnace considering he only had one arm; I'm glad at least some people have stopped the hating of a man who is only following his dreams. Audley also showed a shitload of heart last night- much more than a bunch of haters posting **** on a boxing forum. Olympic Gold medalist and Euro champ isn't a bad haul and Audley can be proud of what he has achieved now, IMO. If he doesn't perform against Dimitrenko then I'd love to see him go for the Lonsdale belt. YES HE CAN!!!
He found that punch from somewhere and had to take a lot of abuse to get that far, so congrats to Audley for that.
Yes, give credit where credit is due, he gets a lot of bad press which at times is thoroughly deserved, but no-one has the right to begrudge Audley last nights win.
Exactly, all this bs pretending he has arrived and has heart. He was **** scared when Sprott was throwing punches at him. The guys an utter sham, put him in against any half decent HW and he will be exposed. Rogan would **** his arse again and I would not even think about risking him with the likes of Chisora. He has won and should retire before he embarrases himself again. I can't see Barry Hearn wanting to promote him after his borefest performance and then crap about his shoulder etc.
When you think of the credit Williams got for knocking out Potter with one arm,the British public are waaaaay to harsh on Harrison. Yes he can.
They weren't impressed with his performance per se, just the heart he showed to carry on with a shoulder injury and fighting with one arm in a totally different stance. Give me a reason why he would be faking a shoulder injury? So he decided to chance stances and not throw a right hand for 10 rounds because he didn't feel like it? The man can do no right in some peoples eyes...
He's won a Eurpoean title not bad end of the day we would be ahppy with any of our professionals (possibly minus m hatton) at becoming Euro champion its knocking on the door of fringe world level. So well done Audley would like to see where he goesfrom here. On a side note how many Euro champions do we have now?! Record high?! seems like in the past few weeks we have been picking them up so easily
Harrison ruined any chance of the sport ever getting back on the bbc and seems to have forever cooked boxings goose with that scam of a network, thats his legacy and biggest mark on the sport. I also think his 'potential' is way overrated, pisses me off when i hear things like "he has all the tools" or "the biggest waste of talent". I could right a thesis on his many flaws and thats without even going into is lack of testicular fortitude. I'm sure someone will come on and say, but you don't win an olympic gold without having alotta talent. GTFOH.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I like Audley. Gaz summed it up perfectly for me but just to add to his points, it would have been easy for Audley to pull out last night with a damaged shoulder (Klit-Byrd anyone?), he had a ready bulit excuse. However, he chose not to take the easy route and was willing to stand there with one arm for 10 rounds in the hope he could land one punch - for that he deserves respect if nothing else.
7 Brits hold euro straps, and 2 Irishmen. Also Enzo Mac, John Murray and Lee Haskins all have EBU shots lined up (although Murray's been waiting for what seems an eternity).
