Like I said, totally different sport before the modern rules were introduced. Let me give you a little example you can understand. People have been kicking objects into "goals" for thousands of years, does that have anything to do with modern soccer? No

People have been punching eachother in the face for thousands of years naturally, doesnt mean that it was anything close to resembling the modern sport today

I know what you mean, its evolution. But that never stops, its just one long continual process.

Americans are so patriotic that they put Woods and Armstrong over Federer as athlete of the decade. When you deal with that kind of raging american patriotism its impossible to come out on top.

Any division without an American as champion will be considered a weak division.

    This.

Being from England doesn't make me more likely to support a Russian than an American. Europe is not one big country.

I saw on the Showtime Dirrell Vs Abraham fight all the American commentators were building it as USA Vs Europe. **** right off! I'm not German or Armenian.

I think only the Americans truely see the Super 6 as Europe vs America. Most English are closer to America than they are to Germany.

    Jesus, who really cares?

I'll support who I want to support, and that's included a fair few Americans over the years.

I'm much more interested about a boxer's skills, abilities and personality rather than what part of the world they do their shopping in or whatever.

And when that stupid list came out I said Manny Pacquiao was the athlete of the decade.

Boxing requires far more talent and dedication then either Tennis or especially Golf.

    Agreed

Also at the AA - Direll fight the crowd(with Ward) was chanting USA USA

    You would not see brits or scandinavians chant Europe Europe or Germany for that matter (-;

Thewhole Super 6 has been billed as America vs Europe for some reason. Trying to drum up business. It seems to be working.

Well we did have UK vs the USA in the contender and we stomped the UK, so score 1 for the USA.

But I love how the UK'ers try to claim all of Europe now which is about double the population of the USA. So if they are allowed to do that I say we get all of our old/current territories(Philippines, Puerto Rico, Cuba, American Samoa, etc.) as well as Mexico and Canada to balance out population wise.

So Heavyweight is European for the most part, though the only ones that stand out are David Haye and the Klitschko's, lose those 3 and the division collapses into a sea of about 50/50. But it is clear advantage Europeans

: Since everyone fights every third year, so yeah. Steve Cunningham seems to be the best.

you moan about Europe haveing double the population of the USA when the USA had 5x the population of UK and yet you try to compare them.

and if you are going by territories then the UK gets to bring in Europe and the entire British commonwealth.

and UK (tiny island) slapped the USA in the UFC contender (massive country with 320 million people)

.....and how the **** is Cuba a us territory? what...the....****?

do we also get old territories too? .....like.....the USA?

Without Europe, USA wouldn't even exist.

BUT: WTF, what rivalry are you talking about? Europe has great fighters and so has USA.
I'm not a fan of a fighter, because he's European, I'm a fan, because I like his style, because he's a good fighter.
