Felix Trinidad vs Kelly Pavlik at 160

hmmm, if kelly can establish the double jab ("double the ****ing jab!") and keep trinidad at a distance he can grind him down. if trinidad can get into his rhythm, slip the jab (admittedly not his strong suit) and get inside tito by knockout.

if they fought 10 times, i say kelly wears him down late 7 times, trinidad gets to him early ala taylor and knocks him out 3 times

The pre-Hopkins Tito KO's Pavlik. The one that KO'd Joppy. Kelly is just too hittable, and his size edge aside... he's not winning a shoot out with Tito. Felix had faster hands, better technique and accuracy, and better two fisted power. And I dont think Pavlik's chin is any better then Tito's.

Once Kelly gets nailed by that hook, he'd be on ***** street... only unlike the clumsy Taylor, Tito knew how to finish guys off.

And the sad thing is... Tito actually put up a more spirited fight with a PRIME Hopkins then Pavlik gave vs a washed up Hopkins. Hopkins respected Tito, and had to stay alert at ALL times in that fight. While on the other hand, he more or less toyed with Pavlik.

The Hopkins that fought Tito woulda destroyed Pavlik within 8 rounds.

While he was knocking him for six? Hopkins openly exchanged with Tito in the later rounds. He never did anything of the sort vs. Pavlik.

I'm not trying to be antagonistic here, but your reasoning is perverse.

 

Pavlik has a considerable size and weight advantage in this one, as well as the more proven power and chin at 160. His greater work-rate puts Tito on the backfoot and he stops him around the middle rounds.

This is not a P4P match-up.

 

Pavlik stops Trinidad no question IMO.

 

It would look a lot like some of KP's other fights against small middleweights. Tito was great at 147, very good at 154, nothing special at 160.

 

Come on people Pavlik would murder a non glove loaded tito. Tito was way over rated and is common knowledge that he cheated during his entire career. His trainer said they always wraped his hands they way they did and never had a problem with it. Problem is that it is illegal. You cannot put tape on the hand first then gauze thne tape. Trinidads trainer said this is why trinindad didnt have any power because they made them rewrap the hands and it took titos power away. Stop giving this cheater, a proven cheater whos trainer admitted to always loading his wraps anymore credit. He may have very well ruined 2 good figthers careers in JOppy and Vargas. Trinidad clearly lost the De la hoya fight and even with loaded gloves had to resort to cheat againts vargas by hitting him low when he was hurt. Also Trinidad avoided Mosley and ike Quartey who i honestly think would have beaten trinidad. This guy cheated and it's sad he really hurt Reids carreer also. These guys said they had never beeen hit so hard by anyone. I think Vargas said he felt like he was being hit my mike tyson and even when he would block punches it would hurt his whole body. After the handwrap incident he only knocked out a careless mayorga who was sticking his chin out and constantly gettint hit flush and was still not going down. Even Winky Wright said trinidad did not hit hard at all.
Give this Trinidad thing a rest he was a cheating bum
