i think because degale is a olmypic gold medalist he comes at a higher price than gavin so needs to earn his money back quicker if u get me.
there could be some truth in that,both guys will be best judged at the end of there careers not at the begining

presumably he needs to compete with Groves who has just won the comonwealth title and needs to get some sort of title in order to stop Groves from overtaking him as the number one british prospect at the weight and getting more publicity .

dont quote me on it but groves knocked degale out in the amateurs and after outclassing adamu from the offset imo groves is a different class compared too degale
It's not necessarily about what Groves thinks but if the public see another prospect in the same division being moved on quickly and achieving things then DeGale won't be as marketable. The media never seem to mention one without the other these days so I'll bet Frank will want to give the impression that their careers are progressing at the same rate.
