You have to be great at it, you have to have great timing.

I know lots of people hate MMA but just look at Liddell try to lead with an uppercut against Rashad.

    Knocked the **** out.

Only a few have mastered it. The perfect example of uppercuts in JMM career is against that Jandaeng guy from thailand. He would begin his combinations with uppercuts from the outside. That was uppercut 101 in session right there.

lennox lewis used a right uppercut from medium range in round 1 against tyson - kessler used the same punch against calzaghe from longer range, but the lightbulb didnt go off for him to use it against ward when ward was leaning in

Lennox laced vitali with some of the most brutal lunging uppercuts I've ever seen a fighter take without falling. Flat out brutal.

Thats mostly what i had to comment on. *******s always try & get him involved in all great things. Didn't have a clue about lifting the fighter off the canvas though. I thought that part was an exaggeration. You never know anymore with some of these non-boxing fans posting that only know about one particular fighter.

while i don't think Pac belongs in a discussion of fighters who often used the uppercut from the outside a lot (and effectively), the punch described was an upper and it did indeed lift Pac's opponent , that much is accurate (it happened twice in the fight actually, with the second one being the one that sort of lifted his opponent)
