As u seen... he got better after the first KD of his career. Zuniga&Andrade2.He realized that you can lose a title only in only few seconds. He's overall a better boxer now. War's makes him stronger. The only thing i hope for is to fight a fast skillful boxer like Dirrell because he has a lot of experience to gain from fighting such a boxer. It can be useful knowledge before meeting someone like Dawson or Ward.
I am sure there will be time there too. Open training is often a quick stop by with a lot of media wanting interviews. Edison is very friendly and he takes time out for fans whenever he can. I just mentioned the weigh in since that is the time fighters are often sitting around bored waiting for their time on the scales. I remember in Oakland Miranda and his crew were sitting on a side of a hill under a tree for like 30min-1hour waiting for weigh in to get going. Anyone could have walk up to him and hung out for as long as they wanted there. Is is basically the same everywhere. The weigh in is when all the pre-fight paperwork gets filled out, fighters get approved from the doctors and everything just takes time. Fighters are usually sitting around for 1-2 hours for a 10 second step on the scale.
I don't think Miranda is versatile or good enough to represent a good measuring stick in this respect.
Thanks for the update. Seems like dream compared to his last visit to Montreal in January for the press conferences!
Don't be so sure. Ward finished the fight at 73 inches above the canvas on a measuring stick. Bute may end the fight at under 2 feet. The stick may tell it all!
If Miranda flattens Bute, it's not because he's better than Bute or even as good as Bute, and it's not proof that Ward is better than Bute either. If Miranda flattens Bute, it's because he got lucky. Any fighter with huge power like Miranda, if they get real lucky, will be able to flatten anyone out, including Bute and including Ward. Having said that, Ward never looked in any danger of being flattend. Ward is a more complete fighter than Bute, and he has better defence. But that doesn't mean he's better and the Miranda is certainly not a good measuring stick, in my view, to determine whether he is indeed better or not.
It has nothing to do with what you said. The 'Boniila' Miranda that fought Ward fought like crap. An old lady could have gotten away from that telegraphed right hand. The 'Goossen' Miranda that will fight Bute is an unknown. Like I have said many times, if that Miranda is no better than the 'Bonilla' Miranda than Edison has little chance of pulling out a victory. If anyone can tweak Miranda it is JG. Not even Bute knows what to expect.
Miranda has looked sh*t for a while now. I am not sure any trainer dead or alive could change him into a fighter who throws meaningful combinations and who doesn't lay it all on a hail-mary punch. "Tweak" Miranda? I think you mean "rebuild from the foundations".... and it takes longer than just a couple of months, no?
