A big statement from Bunce. If it's accurate, why has it always been kept quiet :huh, especially after the garbage McClellan's sisters said about Benn.

    WOW!! I didn't know that!!

I remember the Dr Sutcliffe that Bunce is talking about, the bloke was absolutely superb in interviews defending boxing.

Unbelieveable, had no idea - I very much hope Nigel Benn is aware of these facts

So Buncey is pals with neurosurgeons now?

In all seriousness though, Bunce seems like an good & honest guy to me. I know I have moaned about him here in the past, cos hes so biased, but that was wrong of me, & probably a bit hypocritical too. I do get carried away though from time to time here;)

I couldnt see Bunce telling porkies about something as horrific as those injuries, it was certainly an eye opener to me listening to that.

You're a fellow old fart Dunks. Do you remember DrSutcliffe after the Benn fight?

He'd operated on McClellan, was giving interviews and the press kept trying to get him to say boxing should be banned but he handled the whole situation brilliantly.

Nope Gaz, I remember watching the fight like it was yesterday, I was a Eubank fan back in those days but I was cheering on Benn by the end of that fight cos it was so crazy & dramatic, remember Bruno shouting from ringside, but I can honestly remember nothing after it was stopped exept McLellan leaving the ring on a stretcher.
It was all just a bit too much for me to take in at the time, the bearpit atmosphere that night sucked me in & spat me back out, it was just a mad fight & mad night.

I was a kid when I watched that fight live with my Dad. When Benn finally got to him I was jumping around like a loon in enjoyment. I remember my Dad's face. He knew McLellan was in trouble, I couldn't contain my joy. I regret that.

Thats part of being a boxing fan, sadly enough. I was the same when Eubank beat Watson in their second fight back in the day when I was a big Eubank fan. I still feel bad to this day too about jumping for joy when Watson went down for the last time, when he was on the brink of glorious victory.
