At the end of the day we can't please all of the people all of the time but this may just be a storm in a teacup by suggesting there are camps "raging" by one thing or another. From the days of Ali, to James Toney and Floyd Mayweather Jnr, boxers have always trash-talked and slagged each other off and it generates interest and makes fights. Anyway, when you analyse both of the articles in question it's hardly trash-talk central is it?

I haven't written any lies, all of my interviews are on MP3 audio on a computer so people can hear the questions I ask and the answers. We always give fighters a chance to respond and give their opinions on one another so fans get both sides of the story. Just think, I haven't even rang Jamie Conlan yet....:think

The point is, matters of ethnicity or making weight don't concern me. One thing I will say is that if there is any dispute over making the weight or not, I rang Farrell with the assumption of a fight at flyweight. Whether or not he can make various weights was not discussed, so that could have caused confusion and was my error.

Before Sweeney fought power I rang Jamie and then gave Sweeney his chance to reply before offering it to Tommy Egan and then back to Sweeney again. The article was written and the fight went ahead, no problem. Same with Sweeney-Tims and right back to Murray-Gorman.

At the end of the day I want to see the best Irish fighters fight one another, I'm not interested in **** stirring but merely "drum beating" and if two lads get a decent payday and a title crack against one another as a result of something I've penned then I'm happy enough.

    :good:nut

Was talking earlier to a pal, and pondering if you had a choice what upcoming fight would you like to attend. I speculated on Duddy-Chavez or even prizefighter[ well Corbett did box for my old club]. But Cotto- Foreman at Yankee Stadium would be a beauty also. What do think lads.

Ideally, I would be ringside to get as close as possible to experiencing Duddy smashing ultra-hypejob Chavez - but I cant get over to the States this summer.

So, I am seriously thinking about going to Mitchell-Katsidis or Prizefighter to to Corbett in action. Or if there is a half decent card with Carlos on it (in England) I would go to that as well.....

Very good post Steve, but no need to to explain anything. It is all good in the hood. The worst thing is that no one is talking about these lads - keep them coming:thumbsup

you have to pay 40 euro to give Sweeney a massage?? Can't see that catching on, stick to the boxing Michael!

In all seriousness though, good fight, probably think Sweeney wins it on points
