i reckon i make some good points i dont think much of craig mcewan, he hasnt fought any1 of much importance IMO the best fighter he beat was vera and he was completly exhausted after the fight didnt look all that great in that 1 and when he fought darnell boone he was very lucky to recive a decision and you seem to be hailing him as the next big thing from scotland, i dont rate Lee or Barker if that makes you feel much better:good

I like the look of McEwan but he is at the stage now where he has to step it up and show us really what he's got...busy year for him in 2009 and it needs to be the same this year...as an opponent 15-8 blown up LMWs won't cut it now :deal

this thread degenerated into some kind of enlgish v irish v scottish piece of **** over the last day.
The irish are defensive as ****, the scottish just don't like anyone who isn't scottish, and the english are too neutral.

back to the actual thread. BARKER fought the totally wrong fight, went on his bike too much, looked ok when fighting at range, but close up on the inside didn't look great, and was lucky to get the nod. I was expecting maybe a split either way. But the performance does not make him a fraud yet IMO.
The clarification of this will come from match ups between lee/macklin.
What was most shocking was the way barker gassed in the last minute of most rounds. And i think his pride was seriously dented when he couldn't get rid of his man when he did land, he just didn't seem to discourage the frenchman. He thought he had more power than he does.

Barker`s problem is not that he DIDN`T vary, its that he COULDN`T. This limitation was exposed. At least he now knows what to work on.

barker switched attack from head to body failry well, but didn't have to heart up close and when the guy was firing back.
