Probably the smell of the muslin crowd put him off.

Silva has been acting like a jackazz in his last couple of fights but he is still undefeated in the ufc and has what now won 10 in a row? He's style is getting boring but he is still winning so the # 1 P4P cannot be taken away from him just ask mayweather before he retired.

For me it's still clearly Silva and Penn is probably still second. So he lost a boring decision (controversial to my mind) - GSP was knocked out not long ago. The crucial difference is still that Silva and Penn has achieved in other weights as well.

GSP could well be second behind Silva, but how he could he be above? Silva is undefeated in UFC, at MW and LHW. GSP isn't undefeated and hasn't done anything above WW.

  4. Is it just me, but even after GSP's & Silva's boring last outings, I would still dearly love GSP to beat the **** out of Silva.

At least GSP is switched on for 5 rounds.

I stopped reading your post when I read that Penn is probably still second. How can a fighter can be in the SAME spot of P4P when he lose a DECISION in his OWN weightclass.

You won't see Chimba around for a while or he will have more excuses for BJ.

Losing a decision is far worse than being caught by a ''lucky'' punch with a guy with great power. Since that moment, GSP beat Kos, Hughes, Serra, Fitch, Penn, Alves and Hardy...
    not far back?
when Penn just got OUTSTRUCK FOR at LEAST 4 round by a fighter who DONT cut weight?
    GSP>Penn

I don't agree. A KO is the worst kind of loss you can suffer. Go to Classic Forum and ask them if Lewis getting KO'd by Rahman is more or less hurtful to his legacy than Holyfield losing a close decision to Moorer.

GSP has also lost to Hughes, while this is Penn's only loss at LW in UFC.

But whether Penn or GSP ranks higher p4p in the UFC is at least debatle. To claim that GSP ranks higher than Silva, who is undefeated in UFC and have taken major scalps at an higher weight, is not impressive.
