Ive thought about this one and i really do not see BJ dominating @70 without GSP in the frame , ability yes , BJ's got all the ability needed to be a force in any weight division P4P that is , but when he puts the size on he looks a completley different fighter , he's heavy on his feet , reflexes are slower , he just doesnt seem to look good at anything above 70 , ive always said if BJ is to go up to 70 he needs to relinquish the size advantage and weigh in on the night no more than 160 - 2 , its kind of the comparison id make to Frank Mir at present , he's walking into the cage @270+ and expecting to be able to hang with heavy's in the strength catagory and has lost his best attribute imo which his is speed and movement compared to these huge guys , thats the problem i see BJ having , it all depends on what Marve Merenovich has in mind for BJ when the inevitable move up comes .

But just picture Penn against somelike Fitch who scrapes the barrell to make 170 and has that freak strength , or Thiago Alves , how could Penn beat Thiago Alves ??? , even Dan Hardy , another huge man for 170 , the sums just dont add up , smaller WW's like Kos , Daley or less explosive WW's like Hazelett , Miller , Condit , Kampmann etc etc id give Penn a decent chance against , but could you imagine how small BJ would look next to Anthony Johnson ........................ thats the point im making its difficuilt to see him having a big impact on the 170 lb division i just dont see it .

LOL! Kind of a funny thread now...considering he just lost to a guy who could easly be a Featherweight.

I think the difference was this was the first time BJ fought a guy who was actually as faster then him and could move in and out and win exchanges. And BJ actually had a mark on his face , Even after Hughes crucifix'd him and GSP pounded him he never had a mark.

There aint no maybe about it Alves would destroy Penn , his stand up is 2 notches above BJ's and he has solid take down defence , Alves would stop Penn inside 2 rounds , that is not a dig at Penn its like saying who wins Margarito or Pavlik , Alves is just too big for Penn and a really bad stylistic match up for Penn , who seems to have problems against busy well rounded stand up fighters ................. Pulver , Edgar , GSP .

You idiot! He would never have problems with a guy like Fitch! Put a tiny Frankie Edgar in there and he will though! :yep

    :nut

Seriously why the **** doesn't anybody give Fitch a chance in a fight against BJ?

Just behind you I guess. Check out your avatar and then check out my predictions of him before you even knew him.

Surely you know that Edgar is a different type of fighter than slow "let me hump you, barely beating Diego" Fitch.
