Is there anyone that thinks that Fedor is not as good as he's meant to be?

fedor is the best fighter in all combat sports ever, i would never bet against a prime fedor, if there would be aliens and they would sent there best fighter, then we have to send fedor and he would win^^.
he can use every fight art better than average and has an unbelivble will and the best corner ever big time. he is the perfect fighter/warrior. i can't see some american who are biased by dana white bull**** and don't give their due to fedor

I think he'd beat anyone in MMA and he's everything he's meant to be and more. I don't think he'd be a champion in boxing however. Boxing is just a totally different sport.

Yea, as far as boxing, he's not going anywhere.

I think he has what it takes to be a good boxer, like timing and reading the opponent, but skillwise he's just not crisp and very wild because he goes for that KO/stun punch. He's not in there to score points (ie A.Silva) he's in there to get the **** done and over with.

Who cares how he would do in boxing its not like he is trying to enter boxing. If he did I would think the way he has learned other combat sports he'd probably learn boxing just as well. Fedor is a winner plain and simple.

Oh and Brock isn't the biggest and strongest guy Fedor has faced.

Do you think that the fact that Fedor has eschewed training with weights in favor of more old-fashioned training methods like hitting a tire with a sledgehammer, dips, pull-ups, push ups, etc. hurt his chances should he be in guard against brutes like Lesnar, Carwin, Lashley, DK? Do you know if he uses kettlebells which is supposed to be great at building functional strength in sports like MMA? Fedor is deadly in the guard and can pull off sick subs and give him one tiny opening and he can sweep or scramble out and get to his feet. Against Rogers, Fedor look more filled-out and his physical strength against the bigger man was impressive. However, Lesnar, Lashley, Cain, etc. are great wrestlers and Rogers is not.

    Lesnar is 6'3 275lbs aprox. Semmy Schilt is 7' 290lbs, Hong-Man Choi 7'2 320lbs, Brett Rogers 6'4 275lbs, Mark Hunt 5'11 280lbs(a lot of fat yes, but hugely strong), Zuluzinho 6'7 400lbs, Kerry Schall 6'2 265lbs.

Thanks for that info. Lesnar seems to be uncommonly quick and explosive in comparision to the others you have mentioned. The one area where I think he is not quite as good is stand up. That said though - Lesnar goes for the takedown right away and no one has as of yet been able to nulify it.

    Dear Fedor,

You need to leave SF asap as there are really no relevant challengers for you over there. Okay, Overeem, if he beats Rogers, would be a nice fight. Werdum was soundly beaten by Dos Santos and had a boring loss to Andre Arlovski who you put to sleep in the first round.

Fight Barnett over in Japan. Come over to the UFC and fight Lesnar, Carwin, Velasquez, Dos Santos. If Fedor won all these then I believe he would be the greatest combat sport athlete ever. He already is now but that would make him a household name in every corner of the globe. This of course would take place over the next 3-4 years or so. The fact that it has little or no chance of actually happening will make these debates and hypothetical matchups rage on.

It is not like we are saying - Who would win? Tyson or Ali in his prime? Two men from different eras. Fedor and Lesnar are both active NOW. So it will be even more sad if these two stalwarts never fight.

Kettlebells being a russian developed tool makes it a no brainer that Fedor would indeed use them throughout his training regime.

Its crazy how suddenly old school methods are the new craze. My dad (who spent alot of my youth in the pen) trained with kettlebells etc all the time.Apparently in the nick you can learn some great strength based training regimes.

With regards to the boxing thing.

I think if he started young just learning to box he would do very well. He has a lot of natural ability, timing, punching power, speed a good chin. But switching from mma to boxing now would not go well.

It would be like an mma fighter who was known as a striker starting to go into submission grappling contests all the time. Odds are he would not do great against the good fighters. Same with Fedor in boxing id bet.

Also a lot of the looping shots the throws are to set up the hip throw takedowns that he likes to do.

Well Lesnar couldn't even keep a VERY shot Couture down too good.

I agree Lesnar is more explosive and quicker on his feet than those guys, but does not have quicker hands. But take a look at Fedor vs. Schall and Rogers, they aren't that much smaller than Lesnar. With his superior technique Fedor throws them around.
