The Felix that wiped out Joppy, mops the floor with Pavlik. The quicker Tito, with the straighter punches, beats Pavlik to the punch all night. It took some savvy, skillful, effective counterpunching to finally derail the Trinidad frieight train, but Kelly doesn't have those types of skills that Hopkins does.

Straighter punches? :patsch Like the left hook? If Pavlik can do anything, it's land the straight jab-right.

He beats Pavlik to the punch despite having a) the lesser jab; b) the lesser reach; c) the lesser height; d) the lesser work-rate? Seems dumb to me.

Let's just remind ourselves of what kind of onslaught Trinidad is going to have to deal with here.

I would have to agree. Tito that fought Joppy Kayo's Pavlik.

I love the Hopkins comparison. Can you imagine what the version of Hopkins that stepped in to the ring with Tito what have done to Pavlik???

So Tito looked better in getting shut out and stopped vs. Hopkins than Pavlik did getting shut out vs. Hopkins? And that's a reason to favour Tito over Pavlik? That's some of the most **** poor reasoning I've ever heard.

Tito is not a slick boxer who gives you angles, he fights in front of you like Taylor and Miranda. That's perfect for Pavlik's style.

tito only had two fights at 160 his best days were at welter and jr middleweight... he shoudlve stayed at 154 and he wouldve still been unbeaten but nowadays everybody wants to keep moving up to make history which i dont agree with

Styles makes fights but I think the comparison is supposed to illustrate how a younger fresher Hopkins faced a more spirited effort from an undefeated Trinidad than he did against an undefeated Pavlik 7 years later. Its supposed to denote that Trinidad gave Hopkins more to worry about than Pavlik did in his docile effort.

Either way, Tito's demolition of Joppy proved that he belonged at 160. And I think that the Tito that fought Joppy would have battered the best version of Pavlik. It would be a shootout and the guy with the quicker hands and better skills gets the edge. I wouldn't bet the house on it of course. But Tito was a beast.

@ Klion: thats also perfect for Tito's style...

    Trinidad.

Faster hands, and had better one-punch power than Pavlik.

:good Trinidad was a special fighter who would found a way to beat the ordinary Pavlik.
