Does Holyfield have enough left to beat someone like Arreola or Peter?

Not only does he have enough skill left to beat these two clowns, but he won't even need to use any headbutts. He will, because he's Holyfield and that's what he does, but they will just be for his own pleasure.

 

I don't know, i think it's just as much to do with his hunger as well as his actual age. What is he fighting for? His legacy is secure, so is it money?

Crap no. Botha would be destroyed in three rounds by Arreola and he was still beating Holyfield to the punch in the early rounds. Holyfield won this one because of better conditioning. His reflexes are gone and if Toney's punches could break him down, what would Arreola do to him? This Holyfield doesn't go ten rounds with Vitali.

 

Did Holyfield headbutt Botha?

 

No he'll get dropped and stopped in both fights and they will be sad to see.

 

I doubt that. Arreola may very well have more power than even the prime Holyfield. Arreola is a fat slob, but he was pressing against Vitali for ten roudsn while eating 800 punches, Holyfield would be in a coma if he tried that. It was a hard earned win for Holyfield over a totally shot Botha, no indication that he would survive against Arreola.

 

He can definitely beat Peter. Sam is very inconsistent and I am not sold on his dedication to training hard. He relies too much on his size and power and doesn't pay enough attention to detail. If Holy fights in spots and picks his shots, he beats Peter by UD.

Arreola is different. I don't see Holy beating him. Yes, Holy has a much better overall skillset, but his diminished reflexes and smaller stature won't allow him to outfight Arreola over 12 rounds. I don't think Holy would hurt Arreola and, despite his obesity, Arreola has tremendous stamina. So, I give Arreola the win by lopsided UD or late round TKO.

 

Holy would leave on a stretcher and it would be sad to see. Give me a break.

 

I think Holyfield has a shot. People forget Botha is a pretty good fighter technically. Hes got sneaky punches and has pretty quick hands for a fat white guy. Peter and Arreola are going to press Holy so Holyfield will have his chances, but they are both dangerous fights if Holyfield gets hit cleanly. Holyfield has managed to do well in his old age against fighters that will fight with him and dont move around a lot, so its no suprise that Botha had some early success.

 

Probably not, but this what he did to Valuev at the age of 46 impressed me a lot. He should have been the oldest HW champ.

Anyway, as long as he doesn't fight with injury he can beat plenty of the HWs who have limited skills. Being big and strong isn't enough vs. Holyfield... even at age 47.

If he ever has another performance like the one vs. Larry Donald he should be forced to retire (j/k but that was awful). He seems to be in much better shape since the 3 consecutive losses from 12/02-11/04 (L12 Byrd, LKOby9 Toney, and L12 Donald).

He had two surgeries on his shoulder and came back in 2006. Since 2006 he is 5-2 but both losses were World Title fight decision losses... one of the losses was just total B.S.
