Is there anyone that thinks that Fedor is not as good as he's meant to be?

Do you know when Fedor is supposed to fight again? I've heard possibly Fabricio Werdum on a June card? Another thread stated that M1 is now having problems with SF and Fedor is in limbo at this time. A fight against Barnett over in Japan (where roid testing is said to be more lenient) was even rumored. What is going on?

No idea and I would like to see Fedor vs Barnett even if Josh was roided up I think Fedor would give him a hiding.

They will continue to say the same things they have been saying for the past 8 years until he beats them and another young dog comes on the seen. Thats who it works. People whine and cry that he wouldn't beat the young lion until one of them actually beats him. Thats how it is for every fighter. He knows this so he doesn't fall for being goaded into nonsensical fights. He fights for money that is been stated he was poor and now wants to fight because that is all he has ever done and all he knows. Again much like EVERY great fighter in any sport at any era.

If anyone justifies the hype, it's Fedor. He is not overrated in any way, he is a flabby 230lbs guy who utilizes incredible skills and toughness to lay waste to huge, chiselled (and probably roided) adversaries.

I also really rate his punching technique. I made a thread on it in the Classic forum once , but it inevitably went down like the proverbial lead balloon.

  5. The skills and techinique of boxing are not hugely important to MMA of this generation. It's not his immediate punching technique that make him sepcial but some other strange attributes.

Fedor dominates has dominated his opponants via explosive indominatable will power, like a dehumanizing psychological intimidation, he has unbelievable control in emotional pitch and range if thats what you call it. Is Fedor really even raging? You see him at the end of the fight and he's not even flustered...

Watching his fights are genius to be honest, it's like nothing you've seen before. The intuition you see in the peaks of the fight make you think he can only see the fight in a logical perspective.

I think Fedor's skills are more important than his mental qualities. Mark Coleman didn't seem too intimidated or unsettled when he was on top of Fedor trying to unleash some GnP... then got his arm almost snapped off by a sensational submission that came out of nowhere.

coming off of reading the post about how a brock vs fedor fight would fair i wonder about something: who is a stronger grappler? yea lesnar is physically larger and probably has a more actual strength, but we've seen plenty of times that fedor just by virtue of growing up in sambo and being the man basically can manhandle people much larger than him when it comes to grappling. who would manhandle who when it comes to that aspect of the fight? who gets the takedown more often?

I personally think if this fight went to the ground, Fedor would find away to submit Brock and that would be that.

Fedor gives me jokes, he is carrying a good 20 pounds of fat. He does the small average guy proud.

His defence is question, his balance is atrocious and his punching technique is terrible. He does however throw huge shots with his left and his right. Either hand can close the show. He's also very good at using punches to set up grappling.

I like his balance. He seemed to be in punching position regardless of momentum. But like I say i've seen basically bog all. I'll look again.

His punching technique isn't terrible. It does look like he's just throwing clubbing hooks when he flurries, but his technique for throwing single shots is excellent. The punch that knocked out Rogers was sublime.

  14. I very much doubt Brock being able to out wrestle and out grapple Fedor. Skill side Fedor is so far ahead of Brock it isnt even funny. Fedor is a multiple time Sambo World champion, a Sport Sambo champion and a top Judo fighter. Fedor wasgood enough to be officially in Russia's national Judo team. This type of achievement is far above college NCAA level and even harder to achieve than most countries Olympic spots (since Russia along with Japan are extreemly strong in Judo).

This is how well Fedor is on the ground, even against an Olympic silver medalist.

Ive only read once of Fedor being out wrestled, according to Fedor he was simply out wrestled by Blagoi Ivanov from Bulgaria, who himself is a top international Sambo and Judo fighter who has represented his country in both.
