America is the richest country in the world, with the largest market for boxing. It's no consolation that they would be "better" than the rest of Europe. They have capital at their disposal which is allocated towards generating a wider selection of professional athletes, and as such, will almost always quantitatively out-perform other areas of the world.

80% of the fights I watch, I have to stay up till around half 5-6am. The Froch-Dirrell fight began at 2:30 am, it's so they can incorporate the massive American market.

It'd be almost like asking, who's the best at football (soccer for U.S readers) out of Europe/America. European interest/expenditure is far greater than that of the U.S, and as such, Europe out-performs (on a league level at least).

I'm an objective fan of boxing, don't care where boxers originate and don't ignorantly discriminate against those foreign to myself.

So, in response to the thread title- U.S is the more competitive, but in beginning this thread, you've unveiled a hell a lot of ignorant arseholes who perhaps don't know the first thing about boxing, and would rather defecate on other countries entirely to enhance their perspective of national superiority.

Ok is that why one of the US judges had in 119 - 110 for williams v martinez? Martiniz landed by far the cleaner shots in that fight

    Im not a brit

That fight wasnt that bad, ruiz was actually turning away at times as well so that has to be taken into consideration, but the vast majority of punches were clean and effective. I could easily point to the likes of hopkins tactics or recently the tactics of ward who is a very dirty fighter going by the kessler fight. Take a look at the damage to kesslers face from butts in that fight

Its difficult for a smaller euro country to have a rivilary with a much larger country, its more a situation where they will try to beat them when we can but throw into the mix such scenearios like maybe german fighers not being very popular throughout the rest of europe and the fact that a lot of british fighters are disliked more in parts of europe than even in the states, means its difficult to sustain a real rivilary.

Add to it that for example i cant see polish or ukranians associating themselves with british or danish fighters or vice versa. So what you have are a certain block of non americans who are probably irrirated by the way americans go over board when their guys win and basically trash every other country and lump all "euros" together when in fact there is not much to lump together and a lot of them are actually fans of the american fighter LOL but get put off by the manic reaction of americans to wins

When you admit that Europe is inferior by far to America, then we'll admit we're inferior by far in soccer lol...

How is europe overall far inferior to america? You have caused a world wide recession, you have lived in fear of the russians for years, you have stood by and watched other countrys man up and look after smaller countrys in the world wars (joining in when you are finally forced to), you have very little history and historical significance compared to many of the european countrys. Please enlighten me how in the overall grand scheme of things you are vastly superior.

The British have absolutely no interest in being classified as 'Europe'. Germany,France Italy,Spain etc are foreign countries just as the USA is; more so in fact

Heavywieghts have never been the gauge of boxing. In fact during the two weakest periods of heavies in the history of boxing have been amoung the strongest periods in boxing over all. During the early 1980's when the heavyweight title was changing hands every fight the rest of boxing was doing great with the likes of Leonard, Hearns, hagler, Duran, it also saw the start of guys like Whitaker, Holyfield as a cruiser, Jones, Chavez, Norris, Curry, Nunn, Eubank, McClellan, and Benn. That was a great era of boxing. And of course now when the heavyweights lack talent past three fighters, overall boxing is once again doing great.

We caused a worldwide recession and depression, player. Don't short us, mother****er. We are the global hegemon, just like when the UK would suffer, its colonies suffered. When we suffer, you suffer. You are, to a certain extent, our economic colony. I don't know one country that's had a position as global hegemon that hasn't been arrogant about it. If you can't spell 'countries', I suggest you not try and wax historical. It's a ****ing boxing forum, red coat.
