That might be true, but the problem with the whole arguement is that it's based in the past. I thought a p4p list is based on the present, in which case GSP dominated his opponent and Penn just lost. That being the case GSP has to rank higher than Penn at least today, perhaps that wasn't the case when GSP lost to Serra, but p4p lists change over time and now it's not debatable, as GSP clearly ranks higher than Penn.

As for Silva, until he losses, he's still number one in my books. If GSP went to middle and dominated than perhaps he could equal or surpass Silva, but for now, Silva is clearly number one in the UFC and Fedor is number one in MMA.

Ok. But if that's how you're going to do the list it's pretty useless to do it the day after one of the guys on it has lost.

    I agree.

Well if you don't update the list after a couple of fighters on the list have fought to factor in the results, I don't really understand to point of the list to begin with?

Seems to me this is a PERFECT time to be updating such a list.

Now if it were an ATG p4p list the results might not change the rankings all that much, but if it's a current p4p list, it might alter them substantially.

getting beat for 4/5 rounds and losing a decsion is worse than being k.o'ed by a lucky punch if gsp got a complete beat down and then got k.o'ed that would be worse but he didn't he got caught big deal!

Penn couldnt adapt to Edgar. It was shocking to see him sticking to plan A.

I don't think BJ was in shape. He looked softer at the weigh in. He underestimated Frankie and was probably thinking abotu moving up to 170. If you undertrain then you will simply cut weight to make weight. Cutting weight is not good for the body and never will be. I didn't have lunch today and I was exhausted, hungry and grouchy. Drying out 20 pounds then fighting! I don't even want to imagine it. Good on Frankie for not killing himself to make weight.

True i can't believe penn didn't go for the takedown. He could have taken down edgar in round 4 and 5 when he was clearly down on the scorecard. Gotta give props to edgar, he had a great fight plan to defeat penn.

Notice I didnt have any prediction for this fight? As the biggest Penn fan? Its because I knew BJ would stand and think these MMA judges would know how to score "striking". Well, BJ was wrong.

GSP is number 1, no doubt about it. Silva has to actually start fighting again before he can be #1...

GSP would need to beat Franklin at middleweight to overhaul Silva.
