Adamek was a better cruiser than haye

If I had to pick I think the three toughest fights are Cunningham, Mormeck and Fragomeni (as and when the fights took place).
A lot of folk seem to think Mormeck was done by the time Haye got to him, but I though Bell was well past his best by the time the Adamek fight came around.

 

According to some people on this forum, any boxer who has ever hit the deck in a fight is a glass-jawed bum/fraud/*****. There's really no point in trying to argue about chins here.

Thats the thing, im not "sure" but like I said before it can be interchangeable..

But one thing I know for sure is that both Adamek and Haye had the odds against them....

Haye had to fight Mormeck in his backyard and Bell was the first quality Cruiserweight Adamek has faced...cause Pineda and Jalusic were just mere stepping stones to get a feel for the new division and to also get a feel for his newer boxing style.

Mormeck was dominating the beginning of the fight, ill admit up until round 6, til his stamina problems started re-occuring like in the first fight. By round 8, Mormeck was in survival mode as he knew he was winning the fight and as he knew that he couldn't keep going at that same pace as the previous 7 rounds....

By round 6/7 Bell started to pick up the pace and started winning the fight in the late rounds. Mormeck's legs were almost gone.....

Once the Frenchies started realizing this, they tried their hardest to try and get thier hometown hero to win the fight. The timekeeper rung the bell in those rounds WAY to early in order to save Mormeck from punishment and for him to re-cooperate. Most of those late rounds weren't even full 3 min rounds...

Mormeck might have won, sure, but he got a lot of help that night due to open scoring, the timekeeper, his running in the late rounds and even the ref.

The win was fishy.

Bell has gone awol before and after the second Mormeck fight. He fought Mormeck on Jan 2006, took a year off and fought the rematch in March of 2007..... Took ANOTHER year off and fought in April 2008 vs. Adamek.

Cunningham in his prime would of beat Mormeck in his prime. Mormeck is a 8 round fighter and pretty much always was and still is.... I mean Mormeck even fought Maddalone in a 8 rounder, lol wassup with that? Steve's speed, stamina, accuracy and footwork are all better than Mormecks. Thier power is about even. Steve would clearly outbox Mormeck on neutral territory. Steve has a lot of skill, lets not diminish that....He could be a undisputed champion right now if he didn't have to put up with that skumbag King. Kinda sad cause Steve probably has more fans in Germany and Poland than in USA.

Fragomeni will always be Hayes best CW win, as I said before. Fragomeni, even at his age right now(40) is still fighting for world titles, had 2 WBC fight of the year candidates, and not to long ago held a title which IMO he defended successfully vs. Erdei.

I'll agree with that. Gurov had some solid wins of Rossito, May, and George...but I still think Banks could of beaten Gurov but that really can't be proven.

This is pretty much the main reason why Haye's resume and status was/is higher than Adamek's was/is at CW. Haye gets the edge slightly.

Both Tomasz and David had solid and great wins at this weight division.

If I had to pick which of those 3 fighters id rather have a "W" on my record id say Fragomeni, Cunningham and Bell.

But in this case, Id say JMM in place of Bell only because JMM had the belts...even tho Bell, arguably, beat JMM twice.

You cant only look at resumes. John Ruiz has superior resume to Eddie Chambers but I would much rather fight 38 year old Ruiz. Direll and Ward didnt have any big names on their resumes but it was obvious these guys had talent, proving it was just a matter of time.

Why wouldnt he be able to hit him. He's a pretty accurate puncher. Both fighters have very good offensive and accurate arsenals. Both fighters have sloppy defence and get hit often. Haye relies on his speed/head movement not to get hit, while Adamek relies more on his chin. If Adamek hits Haye cleanly its lights out, especially if its a short punch. If Haye hits Adamek, the result is not so clear. On points, I'd give an edge to Haye based on his slightly superior speed.

They both have decent resumes so it's a bit of a toss up...:think.

Holyfield beats the crap out of both of them at CW though...
