I mean he did dominate maia last night. In boxing they would call his hit and don't get hit style the "sweet science" but this is MMA where fans expect brutal ground and pound and all out slugfest type of fights. I didn't enjoy one bit of last night fight but if this was boxing you know nuthuggers would have said that was an outstanding performance of the sweet science.
Silva should be released. I wouldnt be surprised that he is in some serious dope. Its truly ****n his brain up.
It's hard to released a champion unless there's a contract dispute with the ufc. But i do like how white said he is thinking of putting silva on the undercard next time he fights
The difference is that he wasn't playing the role of the technically brilliant tactician; hell he barely did anything in the last two rounds. In fact, I would have scored the last two rounds for Maia who actually bothered to try and hit his opponent with punches. Silva was disgraceful last night...
Ive dreamnt that several times in the last year :yep The man who beats Anderson Silva is going to have my love forever I dont care who it is.
I can agree with that. I wouldn't have minded all the show boating if he would have backed it up. But after all the bull****, IMO he should have lost the last two rounds. And didn't win very impressively.
Don't pound the mat.. then yell and scream at your opponent to engage... then run away the rest of the fight. He ran away from a bjj guy with one eye and barely any standup. If youre going to act like a jackass in the ring.. then attempt to finish the fight. It was embarassing.
There is a defense to him "not engaging". I don't like the defense or back it up, but I can see it. He is the champion AND he was doing more damage then his challenger. He WAS winning the fight. If he doesn't want to take any unnecessary risks, and was ABLE to ride the fight out and run to stay out of range then that IS his right to do so. I don't like it, I don't think it is good for the sport, I don't even understand why he did it. But hey, it's not my problem....it's Dana's hey
I don't see it that way man. I"m sorry, I have been very clear that I didn't like what silva did but he didn't "breach any contract" or anything like that, I'm just pointing out that technically he did his job. Its up to the fans to react now by NOT buying his fights anymore. But I guaruntee, if UFC matches him with Belfort or anyone else who poses a bit of a threat, GSP maybe.....that you, I and everyone else is buying that friggin fight....so in a sense, Silva will get away with his shenanigans last saturday night, becasue he is that damn good and that damn intriguing of a fighter :deal
I feel like you just said "Yea he screwed the fans by fighting a terrible fight but it's not illegal and he can get away with it so we shouldn't criticize him."
