Rubio and Espino may have seen the blue print but it was clearly beyond their ability to replicate. Is Martinez coming into the ring at 180/85 pounds accompanied by the requisite punch power? Kelly comes to fight and will accept take a few to land his own. People consider that as lack of defense, which I guess technically it is, but if Martinez can't get his respect with a punch Martinez is not going to win this fight by executing Hopkins game plan and that is even if you dismiss the physical problems that should have kept him out of the ring that night.

Martinez will be in with a larger Pavlik, a stronger Pavlik and a quicker Pavlik than we saw in the Bhop fight so even if Martinez shows up with the same blueprint he is pretty much screwed. I'm pretty sure about these points. We will know soon.

Well if you were watching the fight you would have heard Jim Lampley say " I think Martinez is one of the fastest JMW i have ever seen"

Now if Jim Lampley who has seen thousands of fights and knows more about boxing than you(Booradley)can give Martinez that respect then why would any even wanna hear what you gotta say!!!:huh

Do you honestly believe that Lampley thinks Martinez is faster than Duran, Leonard, and Hearns? Lampley was just hyping the fight, the very thing he GETS PAID to do.

 

People analyze Williams/Martinez too much. That fight was a ****ing war - When has a war ever set a blueprint? You think anyone learned how to beat Hagler or Hearns after their battle? When guys trade, skills and finesse goes out if the window so you can't judge it that well.

It is funny hearing Lampley talking about Paul 'punching with authority at MW' and the 'savage exchanges'. Guy really trying to make more out of it than it is. Of course it his job.
