so we know how big of a deal was when that abraham dude punched dirrell when he was on one knee and obviously got DQ'd. Jones did it to montel n got DQ'd Then WTF happened here at 8.09. cotto is deffinately on his knee? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPOw16Z1yuE[/ame]
The difference is that Margarito was throwing shots nonstop from close range on a teeter tottering Cotto ready to be stopped...... ......the ref should have been right there anyway ready to stop it. In no way shape or form did the action stop for even a split second to make Margarito realize that Cotto was down....... ......there was never a momentary pause like was in the Dirrel, Griffin, and countless other fights where the fighter clearly see's a fighter down on a knee or hangin on the ropes, and then a windup comes to deliver and illegal shot when a fighter is down. Sorry, but thats clearly not an act by Margarito to even condider disqualifying him, even if Cotto would have gotten KTFO unconcious with that shot, which thankfully it did'nt happen that way. Margarito was too up close and to relentless throwing shots non stop. The ref at that point when a fighter like Cotto is clearly hurt has to be up close and alert, ready to step in on an aggressor like that to intervene if theres a partial knockdown, or to stop it altogether.
I get Divac's point, but AbbasKhan I do understand why you would post this. If you look again at that part (8:05) when Cotto goes to his knee, Margo seems like he notices Cotto drop to his knee, and holds back on the left uppercut he was about to throw. But then he thinks "**** it", and smacks him with a right. Or maybe I'm just looking in to it too much, as I'm still pissed off about what happened that night. As Divac said, he was up close and in the process of throwing combinations. That slight little pull back of the left uppercat, could merely have been a shift in his choice of punch as Cotto was attempting to evade the onslaught.
Son of a *****!! Just watching that video again, makes me pray to God Margarito never enjoys a decent pay day again! What dirty *******! Piece of **** should never be allowed his license back. Scumbag ruined a once brilliant fighter in Cotto, who was supposed to go on to achieve great things with his career.
Dude whilst there is no concrete (no pun intended) evidence that has surfaced which proves he did have loaded gloves that night, I'm still going to rely on my hunch and settle under the camp that believes he did.
You believe it because you want to believe it. There's no evidence to support it so I'm going to credit Antonio for giving Miguel a beat down.
Well he was caught red handed having his gloves loaded againt Mosley, this itself is enough to arouse suspicion over his previous wins; thus justifying the assumptions I hold
And what do you believe about it? I know it's 'innocent until proven guilty', still with the evidence that caused Margarito's suspension, what does your hunch say?
My hunch says that Margarito won as a result of his heart, determination, and will, not because of an insert. Do people actually know it wasn't cement, bricks, and concrete that was found?
