berto vs clottey: who wins?

This same poll a month ago and Clottey wins by a landslide.

 

Not really, Berto a month ago was higher regarded.

Close fight, I think Berto outpoints him, but I havent seen Berto's last fight which he apparently didnt look very good at.

Im not gonna go singing his praises because i know Quintana isnt no where near as good as your Moselys, Mayweathers and Pacquiaos. Though i was very impressed with Berto's performance at the weekend, modest of him to say he looked rusty, though i think hed easily be able to handle himself with the elite tier of 147.

 

So what? Stylisitically, this is a tough matchup for Clottey. Berto has fast hands, good power, and good footspeed. Clottey also doesn't have the power to really test Berto's chin. As long as Berto doesn't stay in front of Clottey all night and allow himself to get countered silly, he should be able to win a decision.

 

Berto coming off his win over Urango was pretty criticized (though not by me)

anyways, no doubt Clottey wins the poll before Pac beat him

 

Clottey, if Berto's chin isn't too good, like the HBO guys were saying it might be, KO, if good chin maybe still stoppage.

 

Clottey tests your patience and Plan B (since Plan A will likely result in hitting his forearm 95% of the time). For me this means Berto's youth will result in a SD defeat. He will eat straight rights while be frustrated with Clottey's shell. I can even see Berto punching himself out late and going down on fatigue.

The ones who pick Clottey by decision probably expect Berto to stand in front of Clottey all night and get countered to death. I don't see that happening and I don't see another way for Clottey to beat Berto.

Imo a Clottey stoppage is out of the question, Clottey couldn't finish a lightweight @ a weight of 149 pounds in Corrales and an almost finished and one-eyed Cotto.

Berto is very fast, has decent power and won't stand in front of Clottey, he will give him angles.
Berto UD would be my pick on this one.

 

Clottey would destroy him, he's a MUCH better fighter. Berto would give him plenty of chances to open up, and there's no way in hell Berto can stand up to him once he starts punching. Just because Manny made him look bad doesn't mean Clottey isn't an excellent fighter, Manny is special. Berto is faaaaaar away from competing on that level.

 

Both Corrales and Cotto are two or three levels above Berto.

 

Berto Decision. Berto has fast hands and faster movement and he can get off and get out of the way easily. Clottey dont really counter punch unless the other guy stops throwing. So same turtle up bull****.

 

This kind of pompous remarks make me want this fight to happen even more.

Even if Clottey did manage to somehow win, which I seriously doubt, there's no way he would 'destroy' Berto. Hell, who has Clottey 'destroyed' lately anyway, Jose Luis Cruz? :roll:

 

i'm leaning towards Berto in this match up. clottey i think has problems with fighters with fast hands, though we know andre is no manny, he still is as fast as him. plus he has a good power and decent footspeed. not a one-sided fight (like pac) but a clear UD.

 

clottey would beat him up bad. Berto better relax and fight a few more b rate fighters before he steps up to a clottey.

 

Clottey is B rate himself though.
