considering how long the tourny goes on for the p4p top 10 would look a lot different then too.definately a sort of changing of the guard over the next 18-24 months. out will be hopkins, mosely, marquez and possibly cotto retired along with floyd and pac

    To beat

    Pascal
    Taylor
    Dirrell
    Kessler
    Abraham
    Green (say)
    Ward

    CONSECUTIVELY

    = P4P top 10 easily

Certainly top 10 p4p.. if he has that set of wins how can you deny him a place? He may not have the most pleasing style but he gets the job done with sheer will power.

if he wins the thing unbeaten, he will easily be numero uno in SMW, not top ten P4P though

Ray Leonards welterweight wins (generally considered one of the best short careers in boxing history) given the ESB treatment.....;)

KO 14 Wilfredo Benitez (feather fisted 140 lber)
KO 3 Dave "Boy" Green (Euro bum)
KO 8 Roberto Duran (blown up Lightweight)
KO 10 Larry Bonds (Past it, fringe contender)
KO 14 Thomas Hearns (weight drained, chinny)
KO 3 Bruce Finch (shot to pieces, only won 1 fight out of 8 after fighting Leonard)

no you get me wrong, its not that they wouldnt be good wins imo its just that people will always be able to pick holes in them and the fact that the americans though amazingly talented athletes with good skills, remain largely unproven and arent stars (yet?) its makes it a lot harder for froch to get highest status p4p wise partly because of his style of taking punches, relying on relentless intensity and skills that arnt exactly text book. i did say he would be p4p 8 so its not like im dissmissing the wins totally.

lol so true. the way people can rip peoples career apart on this forum is like a sport in itself

though the quality of peoples wins can be questioned its the manner and style of those wins that seperate levels of quality

I think he'd have the record of a top 100 all-time fighter, it would be a much better record than Calzaghe's who is borderline.

It won't happen though, no way he's going to beat Ward.

If froch pulled this scenario it would force people to 'rate' him, i'm far from his biggest fan but if he continues to grind out the victories we can't take it away from him and he would surely be top 5 p4p at least. If he wins the super six at least bute is there to spoil the after party.

I know theres a lot of Froch haters out there, and although I'm a fan I can certainly see how he can rub people up the wrong way. But if he wins the Super Six and remains unbeaten, surely even his big haters have to agree he would be in the P4P top 10!

To say he wouldn't be top 10 is ridiculous!

By the time this tournament is over plenty of names will be gone from the list, which at the minute seems more like a popularity contest rather than actually analysing the best fighters. Can anyone honestly say that Hopkins is top 10 after the farce against Jones?

If he does it, he sould be no1# P4P in my eyes as he will have fought and won so many hard hard fights in succession. In my eyes, Frochs hardest fight out of anyone in the super six is Dirrell and he did the job on him. I can see him winning.

Exactly. Hopkins shouldn't be anywhere near the top ten. But hang on, doesn't he part own the ring?:think

I'd reserve judgement until after the fight against the newly, unretired Joe Calzaghe ;)
