that answered your question. in this forum, non-US fighters are mediocre fighters.

**** knows mate Hatton was a beast at 140 i for one give the guy 150% respect he NEVER ducked a challenge and only lost to two ATG's

The fact he is still considering a ring return is testament to the size of the mans nuts

    :good

Oh behave!!! Bradley beats him in his prime as does Alexander.

Calzaghe was also very over rated.

DISAGREE, however we will never know, also we have seen what the p4p best fighters in the world do to hatton, not speed, dnt confuse the 2, malinaggi has speed and couldnt touch him, you judge him off fight against the best p4p fighters for years and years

Oooooooohhhhhhh riiiiiiiiiggghht, paulies speed is overrated, is that because if it wasnt it would blow the theory of what speed does to hatton, and would just show that who ever said that (not sure if it was you) s talking bollocks

Hatton on a world class level is very ordinary. Ricky is a good guy so his fans hype him up but his boxing skills are not up to par. Kosta fight was a dirty fight. Great atmosphere but a lot of holding and hitting. Ricky became hard watch b/c as he fought better fighters he had to stink it out to survive. I think prior to Kosta his best win was Ben Tackie????

Paulie doesn't have world class power. that is what kills the theory. I've seen hatton hurt to the body by slow ass Urango. Juan Lazcano's left hook hurt Hatton also. so it doesn't really matter.

It's our fault, the Brits. We overrated Hatton: very good fighter who we sold as a great (me very much included). Calzaghe has obvious flaws. The BHop win is underrated and the manner of the Lacy victory, given his status at the time, was the sort of punch perfect performance at the top level that so few achieve, but his career is excellent, not at the top, top tier. And there is no shame in that.

I've said it elsewhere, but we only have a handful of dominant champs over the past 25 years: Honeyghan, Naz, Lewis, Calzaghe, Hatton and Haye (at cruiser) were clearly number one in their divisions. Naz is clearly an all time talent, he ruled the feather through Tyson-like fear for five years (like it or not, he was extraordinary); Lewis is a top 10 heavy in anyone but the most deluded's book; Honeyghan did more than Hatton and arguably Calzaghe yet we foolishly don't celebrate his talent; which leaves me with Haye... Our overselling of Calzaghe and Hatton is wrecking attitudes towards him. In 25 fights he has achieved an extraordinary amount, if he retired tomorrow he's on the cusp of a HoF place. I honestly believe he will beat the Klits, but everyone is sick of us (and the Poles, I would wager) of overselling our stars and simply don't believe us, or worse, actively hate on our opinions.

We overplay our future talents. I think Khan will be a great, I really do. But too often we say these things as fact, before the fighter has delivered.

That said, Gavin's a shoo-in for top 10 all time! Ha!

Trouble is, we oversell the fighters who don't quite deserve it.
